Searching for next horse, lots of lovely mares, but want a gelding.

I would consider any area at this stage! :-)

If I didn't have a boy that was silly with mares, I would happily own one. Shame because I've seen so many smart mares for sale.

Yep, I'd have a look at him but only if he was riding, I'd call and have a chat. But not 'sold from the field' too much doubt. I just want a nice, honest young horse, shown to be doing what he's claimed capable of. Don't need perfect or a world beater, but I do want riding and happy.

Searching for next horse, lots of lovely mares, but want a gelding.

Been seeking my husband next horse as his old boy is about to retire and I'm not having much joy. Certainly some super mares out there, but I need a gelding. That's not something I can be flexible on sadly. Would any of you lovely people know of a boy suitable out there? Happy to buy private...

    Find lost Bridleways and Footpaths

Not sure if this has already been posted elsewhere? Time is galloping on to make sure that Bridleways and Footpaths we use are added to the official register. If we could all spend 20 mins one evening, checking out our own area on the map it would really help. Not all our Farmer friends are...

Chemo - is it worth putting a dog through it ?

I'm so sorry to read about your boy. I was in the process of typing out a reply regarding my experiences of Chemo in dogs but read your update before finishing. Very sad news for you both. Having owned Rottweilers for decades we have sadly experienced a broad range of cancers and have used...

    Sunshine greyhounds and JRTs!!!

Your black and tan JRT is so like our 8mth old girl, it would be easy to say they're related. I've not seen another like her near home. I'm forever defending her parentage :). Great photo's of lovely dogs.

    Hip Dysplasia:(

If I learnt anything from our experience, I would have to suggest that you don't rush into a decision either way for your darling dog. It may not feel like it right now, but you do have a little time to think. Keep up the pain killers to keep him comfortable while you come to terms with your...

    Hip Dysplasia:(

Awful news for you to receive. I'm sure your pup is now occupying your every waking thought. There's no wrong or right decision. No one can stand on judgement if you decide not to put your darling dog through the operations. Just because an operations can be done, doesn't mean it should. Insured...

    Summer...ID bought unseen from Ireland...

She looks super, really looking forward to your updates, if you don't mind. Summer could be a great advert for Gerty (and you of course) . I often have a browse of her adverts and seen so many I like the look of. Been a scardy cat to buy unseen, but Summer may well sway me! Wish you all the best...

    Rotties and agility?

Definitely! But not till mature. So much can go wrong with large heavy dogs until they are matured. It's a pain in the bum but these are the rules we follow with all our pups: 5mins exercise per month of age, no twisting turns, no stairs, no jumping in and out of cars, no rough play with dogs...

Please help us - first time owners rehomed a rottie

Hi Jaffa, how are you all getting on?

Welcome to my nightmare. (sorry - long post)

That's a heartbreaking read Skinny, for both of you. Your love for Sully is very clear and he will feel this every day. Sometimes, life with animals doesn't feel very fair, especially when we feel due a break from tragic events. Does your vet truly feel he has a chance of recovery? It's tough...

Please help us - first time owners rehomed a rottie

Did you get this boy from one of the established Rottweiler rescues? We're had Rottweilers for over three decades and couldn't imagine being without a pack at home. However, I'm the first to suggest they aren't a dog for a first time owner. As someone said previously, they are known talkers...
