What if you try and take him somewhere else for a lesson or a schooling session then the pressures not always there when he goes away, that way neither you or him is tense/worried/excited, then he might lose a bit of his tension or apprehnsion when he's out competing? (just thinking if he goes...

mmmmm just think if you pulled up a comp and were to use it all..would you feel ashamed? if no, then your fine.. if slightly hesitant...maybe inject a bit of purple into their to tone it down slightly..???

Patience and practise I'm afraid... With your impulsion from the hind legs, why not try getting him to do a "big" trot, really feel like your trying to squeeeze every ounce of trot out of him for a long side, then fetch him back to a "little" trot where your keeping him in trot but its as slow...

Yes, Its damn good fittening work! Obviously you have to use your head and be sensible about it, trotting too much on the road for an unfit horse would be as damaging as cantering through fields of soft or heavy going. When well planned its good repetitive work for bone remodelling and...
