    Gut balancer recommendations please!

Just read an article and it does act as a 'sponge' to certain types of bad bacteria so even better !

    Gut balancer recommendations please!

I have both of mine on Equimins Pro-bio. No alfalfa (as far as I am aware) but no toxin binder in it either. Maybe this could be added separately ? The ponies look really well on this and it's reasonably priced.

Retired arthritic horse ... help managing condition

I was surprised about using paracetamol to be honest. I break them in half and hide in his bucket feed of a small amount of copra bulked out with top chop zero, he seems to eat this ok.

Retired arthritic horse ... help managing condition

My old boy is on 1 danilon a day but my vet has just prescribed 17 parecetomol twice daily as and when for his bad days. Pack of 1000 from the vets was about 14.00 so not expensive in the grand scheme of things and maybe worth a try on your vets advice.

    Hay wanted near to lancs?

I live in Baxenden and have bought hay in the last couple of weeks from Sherfin, Hapton Feeds and Rising Bridge Corn Mill , the latter definitely has some today as I have just jogged past and seen it outside :)

    2 dead birds in a week :(

I found a dead magpie in a water tub last week and have noticed crows drinking from another one. I think they are desperate and trying to get water from wherever they can even if it is risky.

He is home from Horspital/ respirator and sleep deprivation help

Gosh who would have thought that a lot of the symptoms could stem from sleep deprivation. I'm glad the 'experts' and doom and gloomers on here have been wrong. Good luck with your pony.

It is but I remember reading on here about a PSSM pony also being reactive to FF. Just trying to help like everyone else.

Fast fibre doesn't agree with mine. Is it possible it is too high in sugar/starch for your pony, or that he has an intolerance to one of the other ingredients ?. Its horrible when you aren't able to find out what's wrong, and despite months of investigations it is only through my own research...

Do you soak his hay ? Mine can tolerate only soaked hay, unsoaked he has all the colic type symptoms. He is sensitive to most processed feeds but can have Alfalfa as its low in sugar and starch. Could you cut everything back and start with soaked hay only ?

    hfffff he was scoped yesterday

I still haven't got to the bottom of my ponies problem. He shows many of the symptoms that yours shows and has been scoped (clear) scanned (slight inflammation of small intestine) had 2 long courses of steroids and sucralfate with little or no improvement. I also tested him for PSSM which was...
