if you have to keep your hay outside, then yes tarp is the best but u need to let it breath, so use pallets then put tarp over the top, that stops it sweating n going yuk, hope this helps

Really dont think you need to worry, everyone jumps very diffrent, thats what makes you a rider, if we all ride the same life would be a drag! as long as the horse has iyts shoulders n back to make a correct shape, dont worry yourself, it takes time and sure your there nothing to worry about

hwta i have found in the past with horses and ponies i deal with, its a lack of minerales and iorn in the body, what makes them chew wood lick the wall etc, could also mean the horse is anemic, i use a supplement call propell plus, hope this helps
