Recommendations for Dealers / Producers in North Yorks?

Sorry but wouldn't touch judi thurloe with a barge pole. Feel free to PM me as to why. Another vote for Helen bell. Fantastic facilities to try out horses too but I think she is pricey. Pennines view stud has some nice home bred stock at decent prices although doesn't advertise much so id...

    Queen Ethelburga's equestrian Centre?

I think they're planning to just make it a riding school only and stopping students taking their horses. I'm still in contact with the staff that were there and they have all been made redundant. All the school horses that belonged the school had been sold so I assumed they were going to shut...

    Queen Ethelburga's equestrian Centre?

I was a student there for 2 years and kept my horse there for the duration. From what I have been told, the equestrian centre has now shut down as it wasn't returning the cost of what it took to run. The facilities were good, although the school didn't have a very good reputation, i think this...

    Second hand Micklem Multibridle

As the title says really... where can I find a second hand one? I've searched Ebay, PreLoved, you name it- all to no avail :( I'd really like one, but I'm not really wanting to pay £100+ (very poor student!!)

    Have had devastating news

Another positive post about suspensporys here! My boy had a massive lesion in his suspensory and other slight tears elsewhere in the same suspensory (so otherwise it was ****ed) and damaged the check in his other fore. After total box rest no other treatment (couldn't afford it and the...

    Eventing and boarding school

Would just like to add that I went to QE and the eventers on our yard didn't have any issues with competing. They were allowed out several times a week, even missing academic commitments so that they could train/compete. Yes, schools like QE are expensive (I was on equestrian scholarship and...

Should you jump in a GPD saddle?

I've only ever had a VSD and I've jumped 1.40 in it without any issues and jumped around 1.15 courses, XCed, hunted etc without an issue. It's not great for your position, but I can't afford to buy another saddle so it's make do and mend!

    Experiences with horses and university

Hi all, I'm in my first year at university and still have my horse after making the tough decision to keep him. Currently he is at home being looked after by my old instructor, however at the end of this year he will be coming to university with me. I would be interested to hear people's...

    Dressage instructors Yorkshire?

Another huge vote for Margot Tiffany- she is just fabulous. She used to teach me at college and had an absolute ball with Margot, she makes every lesson so enjoyable- really miss having lessons with her! And also another vote for Ian Brown, had a few lessons with him in the summer and he really...

    Help! Spur marks/rubs

I feel your pain with this one, my boy marks easily too. I use roller ball rubber spurs and they seem to have stopped the rubbing. But also ditto what Smith123 said above about the skin hardening cream, that worked a treat.

How are the injured HHO horses doing?

My lad tore his suspensory ligament back in september. After what seemed like endless weeks of box rest, where for the majority he was a good patient other than taking chunks out of himself occasionally. He was rescanned last week and although he is still lame, the tear is healing albeit slowly...

    TB x WB opinions please

My boy is danish wb x tb- sadly he has rubbish feet, but with good farriery they aren't an issue. He has a cracking jump (makes mincemeat out of 1m30), good gallop and is very athletic. he isn't stood well on this shot- he's on a down hill slope. he has decent confo, not the best, but passable...
