I can't comment on Steglatro as I've no experience of it. Mine is on Metformin to successfully manage Insulin Resistence which she has alongside PPID.
Definitely PPID and high insulin are linked and you won't control insulin levels until PPID is controlled via a theraputic dose of Prascend...
I use jiaogulan for my Cushings/IR mare, I follow Dr K and read her articles. Mine had sub clinical laminitis last year which we only discovered when her bones were close to penetrating. I started it then and believe it was a major contributor to her pulling through, she tripled sole depth in 8...
I had this situation as my mare is a face puller, I just used a regular rubber stall guard fixed a foot or so above the door. She could get her head over to look out but not her neck so she couldn't reach to intimidate the next door horse being led past. Worked really well with our layout.
I've just bought pallet of 65 from SDL, £359 including delivery and they arrived within 3 days. I usually go White Horse but their stock levels have been inconsistent when I'm looking to buy.

Ditto, I followed the group for a couple of years being genuinely interested in nutrition and dietary management. I unfollowed last year when the Ponease and Equinectar hard sell increased and most other conversations abruptly shut down, including many from desperate owners who suspected either...
Does anyone use Eventus Grade A shavings please, looking for opinions on dust content before ordering a pallet? One of mine has been diagnosed with mild asthma so I'm looking for something less dusty than my current Natural Flake. Thanks in advance for any advice.
So sorry OP, quality of life calls are the hardest to make.
I think the excess weight won't be helping one bit so if I was continuing through winter with pain relief I would be discussing Metformin with my vet to shed some kilos.
Not a mash but I use Simple Systems Metaslim which you can make to the consistency you want. My good doer EMS mare is horribly picky with anything remotely healthy but she can't get enough of this even when full of supplements.
Sending sympathies OP as I have 2 x 16.2 heavies on soaked hay for health reasons and I'm dreading winter after being a slave to nets all summer.
I currently use my hay saver for soaking which easily takes 4 nets but the lifting, emptying, rinsing, plus lugging to yard twice a day is hard work...
A morbid contribution from me, just please be careful and always take sensible precautions where you suspect rodent activity. Within the last month my neighbour has sadly died from Weil's disease. Fit and healthy, younger than me and ironically only multiple cats as pets.
I currently have one in with laminitis (first experience in 40+ years). My vet advised seven to ten days after a trigger event for an acute attack to manifest. In my case it was 12 days as I was able to map it back to swapping fields for 36 hrs whilst accommodating ground works. Fingers crossed...
