Ok - I have only seen his videos in the last year or so and he sadly had to let his grey stallion go due to gene- based conformation issues. If the information you are referring to is only hearsay, as you say, then perhaps it is best not to make judgements based on it?
I have, but mine is a Belgian Draft cross ( not the one in my icon) so would be expected to mature later. He is nearly 12 and has definitely changed since he was 8, even allowing for the fact that he had major surgery in his eighth year.
As you will have seen, OP, this is a very mixed set of answers! That is partly because things you have to consider first are - is your horse generally a warm soul in which case, even clipped, you may need thinner rugs than you think ( 350 is quite thick ). Secondly, what are the weather patterns...
@Nancykitt i do hope it didn’t sound as if I was in any way making any criticism of how your horses are kept - this was not meant at all - we each have our own situations. I didn’t express it well ( late night and lack of sleep 🙄) but I was simply meaning that , certainly with my own, I am...
This is going to sound like a very simplistic thing but….its your first winter with Ozzy - what’s your grass like? Could he simply be more hungry and therefore even more food- defensive? I know you have hay out there but just thinking of my old boy and the big boy I have now - both fairly...

Noble - thanks for that - rushed straight to the site but none of the ones I want in the weight I want in a big enough size, sadly. Looking for 7’0 or even 7’3. But thanks again!
Thanks loads for the early answers. Had a quick look at the Ventomasta but I think I wasn’t clear enough in my question - rather than the leg darts, I was meaning the darts in the neckline like Bucas.
Hi all - three quick questions as we are all manic with glitter, trees and muck heaps………… 1) Shires Typhoon 100 turnout - useful? 2) any rug recs for ones that are cut with a dart at the front like Bucas but maybe not quite as spendy ( have two Bucas - this would be a spare) 3) which is the...
Just a thought which I hope will not be the case but something to ask the vet about - an old mare I once owned had a mild stroke ( confirmed by vet David Langrish) and was very much like this - odd behaviour of this type during the actual event, and then exhausted afterwards.
