Thanks Spotty Pony - duh! Should have realised that!! So I guess another need to know fact is how many doses are in one ‘lot’ of vaccine - if it is a huge number it will be difficult to firm up any observations.
Could be I guess - my boy did have the tetanus vaccine as well this year but the batch for that is not listed on his passport, I don’t think - will check.
So, would it be useful to compare batches? In January, my boy had Equilis Prequenza Te - Lot A311AO1. Def had a reaction which he has not had before because it stopped his access to his haynet, and we would have noticed that in previous years.
Yep, another one here - vaccinated early Jan, sore neck for 24 hours, not lifting head to haynet etc. Notified vet who said he ‘might have a sore neck’, but made no mention of association with specific batch of vaccine. Not had this reaction in previous years.
Hi Hock - thanks loads for this info! My farrier luckily recovered from being unwell and was eventually able to come for my boy, but if it’s ok I will keep the info about your farrier just in case! It’s amazing that he comes all the way from Wales so reliably!
Thanks for your response - this may be the case, but sadly, I cannot see him footsore in this way, especially because he had serious colic in 2022 and I do need to be able to keep him moving properly and exercised.
Am looking for a farrier for my draft (not the horse in my pic). My current frrier, who is experienced with Shires etc, is unwell and not able to come. We took shoes off in November with a view to putting them back on in the Spring - however, he has now become intermittently footsore in front so...
If you decide to have a caller, it’s well worth practising with them beforehand. Even if they are experienced, it’s a fine art getting it right. I used to do quite a bit of calling for a variety of friends, and each one was different in how far ahead (or not ) they wanted me to be and exactly...
I am so, so sorry to hear of this and my thoughts are with you. I too, like a previous poster, am always awake at various times throughout the night so also around if you need to speak to someone.
Thanks - so that’s not where I am thinking of, but your photo did jog my memory about my own rides around a copse. Have ridden in QE Country Park myself many times - Hampshire is a great county for off-road riding.
