@Nancykitt i do hope it didn’t sound as if I was in any way making any criticism of how your horses are kept - this was not meant at all - we each have our own situations. I didn’t express it well ( late night and lack of sleep 🙄) but I was simply meaning that , certainly with my own, I am...
This is going to sound like a very simplistic thing but….its your first winter with Ozzy - what’s your grass like? Could he simply be more hungry and therefore even more food- defensive? I know you have hay out there but just thinking of my old boy and the big boy I have now - both fairly...
Yes, terrierliz! I was also taught to ‘quarter’, as in fold back the front left quarter of the rug, brush, fold back down, fold forward the back left quarter of the rug, brush, fold back down, and so on round the horse. Much harder when rugs were less technical and thicker!
Noble - thanks for that - rushed straight to the site but none of the ones I want in the weight I want in a big enough size, sadly. Looking for 7’0 or even 7’3. But thanks again!
Thanks loads for the early answers. Had a quick look at the Ventomasta but I think I wasn’t clear enough in my question - rather than the leg darts, I was meaning the darts in the neckline like Bucas.

Just a thought which I hope will not be the case but something to ask the vet about - an old mare I once owned had a mild stroke ( confirmed by vet David Langrish) and was very much like this - odd behaviour of this type during the actual event, and then exhausted afterwards.
Lots of advice here already, so although I do have experience of sarcoids on a big draft, I won’t repeat stuff except to say firstly there are so many variants of these which behave in so many different ways that it is difficult really to say for certain that a home treatment has ‘worked’ ( it...
Hi all - as title really. I have Masterclip Roamer cordless clippers which are great for full clips on my big draft, and I have access to a pair of small trimmers. Can anybody recommend ‘medium’ weight clippers that I can use (in between big clips) on the feather to thin it? I was looking at...
@teapot - when you refer back to Meonstoke, do you mean the railway that runs through Wickham? I had loads of very happy rides along there and in the Forestry when I lived down there. What did they do to it?
