On weekdays I was only there morning and evening so I would put the things in morning, as that's when the others went out. I didn't do anything in the evenings as she'd be settled for the night then like normal... I'd say good at lunchtime when you go as that's when he'll be on his own...?
Also, just remembered, when my thoroughbred was on box rest years ago, I got big Coke bottles, hung them on string and painted molasses on for him to lick off, kept him amused :-)

Hi, can anyone recommend a good dressage trainer in Kent please, mainly to improve my riding as my seat and legs could do with some help! I've got a brilliant jumping trainer but need to sort myself out on the flatwork :)
I've never understood the whole thing about trashing fields. Ours go out all day in winter, ponies out 24/7 all year and some of the horses 24/7 in summer and although the fields don't look great come February, we roll/turbo/harrow in the spring and always have more grass than we need by...

I think the key is having someone who will push you just out of your comfort zone, but sympathetic enough not to push you too far, so you feel you've achieved something every time.
