CC do you do distance down in your sport? Or other people that have dogs that work sheep/shoot(?) I'd quite like to teach it to Mrs Collie. She has a pretty good down but its not instant. I'd quite like it if she was heading off to chase something and I could yell it at her and have it solid...

2023 goals. Mrs Collie. • To break the 4.00 second flyball barrier. We are so close with a best time of 4.04 and consistent 4.10 times. Hopefully now she is fully settled to her job we can do this! To make a proper agility debut with no rugby tackling of judges, and no losing her head and...

2022 Dog Achievements and 2023 aims

For everyone! Not just the sporting/working/showing dog bods amongst us! Have you got plans to introduce a new family member next year? Tell us all about it! :D I do like making this thread each year as it keeps me accountable for what i'm aiming for with the dogs rather than meandering around...

    A sad and distressed labradog

Current things that scare Mrs Spaniel include a new laminate floorboard on the top of the stairs that replace the one that I cracked. She also finds it impossible to walk past a broom or the mop bucket unless its safely put in the cupboard. I have photos of her pulling the same face when I was...

    A sad and distressed labradog

My two have one each, a purple and a red one. I don't use the flashing as it's annoying for me but they're unphased by them. Maybe it's a bit heavier/feels different to his normal colla?! I'm sure he'll get used to it and love showing it off to his mates eventually!

    Soft toys

    Toys! And Winter Dog Ownership.

Mrs Spaniel is the same! We got home about 11.30 on Sunday morning. She refused to go back outside in the rain and dark until 7am the next day! I don't understand how she does it!

    Toys! And Winter Dog Ownership.

I hate it, I hate it. Dark morning walks, dark evening walks. Always plodding around the same pitch black park where I can't see anything coming that might cause a collie-incident. Instead of doing an hour plus walking, we might just do a quick 20 min leg stretch and play games or do our version...

    Hand stripping

Don't touch unless you need to and I'd hand strip always if it suited breed. I made the mistake of going for the cheaper clipping option a few years back and it turned Mrs Spaniel into a wooly sheep! I regret it so much as she had a beautiful short, shiny coat before. I get her hand stripped now...

Fireworks - how are we doing?

We were managing ok until tonight when some idiot let them off in the park we were walking in. ?? Mrs Collie bolted out of the park and across a busy roundabout intent on finding her way home. Can only thank the drivers who spotted her disco collar (was 6pm so dark!) And slammed their brakes...

    Dogs for autism

None personally, but look up Anything is Pawsible on facebook, there is a gorgeous little gold cocker who helps an autistic child and the mother has raised money to fund training for three other dogs to help autistic children

    The Spanish Riding School

I went a few years ago - deffo do the behind the scenes tour, I watched the morning exercise and the Performance as well and enjoyed both, apart from the mad woman who jumped up at a certain point during the main performance and used her camera flash which resulted in a mass spook!

    Looks are deceptive

There is a lady in local park with toy poodle, I've always dismissed them as lapdogs, boring, something for old people with stupid haircuts etc (sorry poodle people!), Omg, it's a such a fab little dog, so bright and quick to pick things up, it's a whizzy little thing and I'm almost...
