I’ve used the and have been really impressed with the quality, it seems to be my go to site at the moment, their catalogue made me want to spend an awful lot of money 😊

    Shopping help: riding trainers?

I have got the Woof Wear Horizons too, they are super comfy, although I don't ride in mine I do wear them everyday and walk miles, do all yard duties etc, the only thing I would say is that the sizes seem to come up bigger than normal?

Cushings again - what hard feed?

Mine is kept relatively grass free so fed lots of hay, gets half a scoop of dengie hi fibre molasses free, half a scoop pure feed fibre plus chaff, half a cup of key flow balancer split between two feeds a day , in the winter he also gets keyflow pink mash, he is looking and feeling the best he...

    Pony eating Equinola bedding

My Dartmoor has come out of winter looking a little too well, he is currently in during the day with a 12 hr soaked hay in a greedy feeder net and a bucket of chopped oat straw, he still devours his net really quickly and just kicks his out straw around in disgust! When I went back up today to...

    Grazing time, per day???

both mine (one had laminitis last year) are still on their winter field which is just under half an acre, the grass is still coming through so they are both muzzled and I put hay out to make sure they have roughage going through, (they can eat it really well through their muzzles) they currently...

    Milk Thistle & Laminitis

I used the forage plus Milk thistle powder last year on a pony that was suffering from laminitis, I didn't see any real difference, it is supposed to be good for clearing toxins etc so cant imagine it would do any harm to try, I might reintroduce it when the grass starts flushing again.

What's your definition of too wet for horses?

Whilst poo picking my field yesterday afternoon I overhead a gentleman saying to his wife, those poor ponies, have been shut in all day now she is turning them out to swim all night, it’s not fair. The field is standing foggage so whilst there isn’t much to eat as it’s trampled...

Hoof boots - anyone tried Swiss Galopper?

I’ve had both, since getting the galoppers I’ve sold the scoots! They seem a much better fit as you can adjust the Velcro so it fits snuggly where as the scoots are more rigid in fit, haven’t done any fast work in them yet but so far very impressed!

Sticking to overnight turnout in Winter

Thanks all, I do find it much easier to ride as he is usually dry and easier to brush off, he does wear a rainsheet (only because he is a mud monster) but last year I really struggled with wet mud under his tummy where his girth goes as he does love to rub his tum! Also I get a bit of a lie in...

Sticking to overnight turnout in Winter

my lad came down with his first Laminitis attack this year (he has PPID) so during the summer he was stabled during the day and out overnight which worked really well. I still do that routine, they come in around 07.15 weekdays and maybe around 08.00 weekends then I pop them back out either late...

Has anyone bought clippers from Masterclip?

I bought the cordless ones, they are a bit noisy but considering I'm a virgin clipper they have done a fab job of my Dartmoors woolly coat, even managed a neat trace clip!

    Clipping and leaving unrugged?

I have given my little Dartmoor a trace clip and he goes out totally un rugged overnight, I might pop on a rainsheet if we get hours of relentless rain then frost but other than that he could do with the weight loss! he isn't bothered at all and seemed relieved when I took all the fluff off!
