It's not that much heavier that phenolic boards like buffalo boards. Yes it's made from sheets of ply covered in fibreglass but the coating gives it strength and there should be a frame to support the weight as well. I wouldn't recommend getting it second hand as it may well be rotten inside.
is the roof damaged or is it just the sealer letting go you may not need to replace it unless it is well soaked and and the wood has gone.

A 18mm phenolic board would be fine with rubber or eva matting definitely underseal the van floor before hand,
or aluminum planks this option would defiantly last longer.
just make sure you get drain holes with tubes that go from inside floor height to outside many a time ive seen them just...
if your looking at relaying the horse area floor i would really advise a aluminium plank floor but if you went with wood go with a phenolic board at least 22mm.

GRP is a fibreglass reinforced plywood panel. so will root if the coating is broken or untreated. look for swelling under windows as water makes it swell out .try goggling GRP DRY FREIGHT.

With £30- £35k you should be able to get a good new build. Definitely stick with a chassis no older the 5 years if you can. Have you thought about 5-6 ton chassis. Do you know what chassis you want ie low to the ground like a 3 ton box?
