    John Whitaker air iron stirrups??

I have some. I found the opposite to leflynn though, the Jin ones really aggravated my dodgy joints! I have the John Whitaker (Metalab) Air irons on my jump saddle, and Acavallo Operas on my dressage. Neither give my knees or ankles any hassle. Big thumbs up from me!

What is it with cows!? Train to get by them how?

Oh, this is a topic very close to my heart. I didn't know my boy hated cows until the day I tried to pass them and he dragged me bodily through a hedge to escape them. I was fortunate to have my old pony still in work, so my mum would come with me on Murphy while I followed. He got to watch...

Travelling the less an easy horse and Livery in Scotland

I second Roland Holmes. Got my bad to load gelding on his lorry with little drama and was so patient. Didn't help that my horse had never seen a vehicle so big that close up, never mind load onto it with another horse already on board!

    Taking your horse on holiday

I take tack (spare girth and saddlepad), rainsheet just in case, clothes for me (spares if you're going swimming), feed, and I take hay and water for the journey only.

    Taking your horse on holiday

If you're going where I think you're going, you're going to have an absolute blast!!! Gorgeous area, gorgeous food, mental host (in the best way) and I'm arriving for my 5th holiday there at the very end of July. Made some amazing friends there as well. I was on the swimming unicorn in the...

    Riding with no Arena

I am in this situation. I work away from home and return on weekends. We have no arena, but do have a field I can ride in (horse won't hack alone, so that's out!). I can ride when it's dry as it is very slippy and of course churns up the grazing if wet. So, I do usually get to ride Saturday...

Horse owners how often do you ride?

I work 120 miles away from my horse and only see him on weekends. As I don't have a school and he won't hack alone, I can only ride when the field is dry. So I can ride most weekends during summer but it means he gets most of the year off, it's not often the ground stays dry for long in...

    Renault Master Battery Isolator

supsup, I had one with the plastic screw, but it was too big to either connect to the battery directly, or fit to the terminals under the bonnet (stupid pipes and stuffs in the way!). Sounds like yours was designed with a bit more access in there. PaddyMonty, that sounds feasible. We're...

    Renault Master Battery Isolator

Yep, there is ALWAYS information that I miss out. Extra cookies for you! It's a 2006 with an alarm and immobilizer as standard. It was in the event of a fire, I wouldn't be covered for insurance should it burst into flames! I thought it may be worth the risk not getting one because it's not...

    Renault Master Battery Isolator

Alright you lovely lot, since it is 1st December, I am offering up hot chocolate with all the trimmings and some cookies of your choosing to anyone that can help! I have a 3.5t horsebox (The Renault/Vauxhall one, so any owners of this vehicle type can help!) and my insurance requires that I...

    3.5t Horsebox Speed Limit

Excellent, this is why I love this forum, thank you all. Good point though, about keeping up with traffic more, it was just in the event of having to stop quickly when laden with horse! Tiddlypom, embarrassingly enough, I'd read that document, but seem to have missed that table (possibly...

    3.5t Horsebox Speed Limit

I collected my newly converted 3.5t horsebox on Saturday, and proceeded to drive it 8 hours back home (couldn't have chosen a company much further from home!). With a horse in it, I wouldn't go above 50mph on a motorway for my own peace of mind, but I wondered about unladen? I'd heard that...

    Welcome to HHO Towing Clinic

Just double checking my figures before I seriously look into the logistics and pricing of this! Also, suggestions of what to downplate to on the models it's needed on, horse is max 450kg. 1 - B 2 - 1595 (2007 Rav4 2.2l D4D) 3 - 2190 4 - 4190 (giving towing capacity of 2000?) 5 - Thinking of...

    horses, work and studies

I work full time away from home, am currently doing 2 study courses for my own interest, and am only home on weekends. As I'm away Mon-Fri, the study doesn't detract from horsey fun time! My boys get looked after during the week (my mum and OH go and help) and I look after them and the rest on...
