YO's 11hh pony got out (door not closed <sigh>) one night. Ate whole bucket of soaking Fast Fibre and sugar beet designed for two 15hh horses, pigged out on the chop and then tipped over the bin of her own feed and demolished that as well. Got her back in stable and she immediately lay down and...
Totally agree. We had to take ours off it, one got super sensitive skin issues and itched all over and two of the others were hyper as you describe. Very hard to find feed free from alfalfa, it's even in some supplements.
This ^, or a tiny treeless saddle which will give the rider a bit more support. We have a treeless for our hard to fit Dartmoor and Grandson is very stable in it plus a comfortable pony. She is 18 and I don't think her previous owners ever had a saddle that fitted her and made her comfortable...

I am old enough to remember a famous International showjumper being outed for rapping his horses with poles covered in hedgehog skins. I thought after the outcry the practice had been made illegal?
Seems to me he has a good quality of life!
I suppose you can impose a tough regime to make him lose weight and see if that is the answer to his stifle problems.

Well done Spotty Botty lol.
I missed the nail in the foot drama. You have been incredibly lucky, as I am sure you know. Friend of mine was out on her stallion the day the Tour de France came through Kent. He stood on a nail in a little used bridleway and the race organisers wouldn't let a...
Many years ago when we had a fierce storm I was leading in a tiny show pony, with her first (priceless) foal running free with us. I went one side of a massive puddle and pony went the other. Believe it or not, lightning struck the puddle between us. Never in my life been so scared. Very sadly...
