    Finding a horse, North East

Second the two suggestions above. Christina trades under MPF Horse Talent and advertises on FB. It's worth speaking to her about what you're looking for. She's got many satisfied customers, including me.

Horse pulling rugs off rug rack

Horses being horses, the least things in a stable the better. Rugs in stables is an accident risk imo. I'd try to find somewhere else to keep them.

    Big rectangular metal feed bins...

I too just put the bags inside. I think it's more hygienic doing it this way and much easier to keep clean. I buy a new bag a bit before finishing the old one. I take the part used bag out, put the new one at the bottom then stand the part bag on top. Makes it easier to get to the bottom.

    Livestock worrying law update

Under the original Act horses have always been included under the definition of Livestock. This is just an amendment so horses are still included.

    Extreme itching help

Dermatophilis condolences? Ie rain scald/ sweat scald. My welsh used to get it quite badly. He was clipped out in winter which was the best way of controlling it. Vet told me to bath in dilute hibiscrub (rubbed well in with soft brush) to kill off the bacteria. Any nasty sores treat with...

    Keeping Horses on Hardstanding

You definitely need some sort of soft area for them. Standing on hard surface for long periods is detrimental to joints, muscles and soft tissues. I have rubber mats ( on top of stone) in the shelter. The shelter has a canopy and never gets wet inside. They go outside to wee. Outside is a...

    Cardboard bedding

Have a look at Green Mile cardboard bedding. Much better than the little squares. Absorbent, soft and dust free . Easy to muck out too. They are in Shropshire though, not sure where you are.

    Thrust for ragwort

I wouldn't use Gallup. It's glyphosate so will kill everything including grass. Thrust is a recommended product for ragwort. The Progreen website is very informative on weed control.

Suggestions how to strengthen mane hair please.

Thanks for the replies. Will definitely have a look at a biotin supplement. Also like the idea of coconut oil. I used to use it on my own hair.

Suggestions how to strengthen mane hair please.

Thanks. I too will only be using necks in the worst weather from now on. Better to have a muddy mane than no mane!

Suggestions how to strengthen mane hair please.

Horse is blue and white. The grey part of the mane is quite thick and strong but the white part is thin and a portion has rubbed out completely. I've taken the neck off the rug now. I had been keeping an eye on it but it happened almost overnight. I've seen a few products on the market for...
