We have had quite a few horses offered after putting up wanted ads, a few were not advertised. Worth putting on FB eventing/Twitter pages. There is a cobx advertised on horsemart at the moment, done a bit of everything and sounds like a bit of a schoolmaster.
The biggest XF bridles I have found are the Kieffer ones, I have measured a lot of them and they come up bigger than stubben etc by quite a long way. I have a lovely shaped leather GP girth for sale if your looking for a big girth?
Does anybody have any recommendations for American barn suppliers please. I have gone through all the usual websites and have lots of suggestions and prices but I would really like some recommendations from people who have used a good company, thank you!
Team Ilbrey k9 rescue on FB are looking for fosterers I have seen and they are sensible with regarding to leaving the dogs and working etc. They are across the Uk I believe so might be worth contacting them.
Try Ruggles rugs, fab fit, really adjustable, very reasonably priced, 1200d, seem very strong and robust and they deliver directly in a day or two, fab customer service. I have several now and seriously rate them
My horse throws himself around the stables, digging and rolling like he has severe colic, but I have found its when he comes in from the field wet, he doesn't like being wet and seems to roll to help dry off. I wonder if it is similar, perhaps he is itchy from getting very hot whilst hunting?
Yes I used it on a horse that needed clipping quickly and was bad to clip, it definitely took longer than the time it said it took to work (I thought it hadn't worked), probably another 20min but then it really knocked him out.
My Mums dog would do this if she had been in cut grass and it was an allergy, if we kept her off grass that was newly cut it wasn't half as bad and would stop in the winter time.
I have some really strong 6ft clothes rails that are on wheels and they are great for hanging rugs on and they can be wheeled together and out of the way when needed.
I have the whole thing including large gas bottle mounted on a heavy duty sack trolley, it's fab as we wheel it in and out of the tackrom as needed, don't know what I would do without it now!
It's also ok to have days where you think 'what have I done?', we all have those days especially with a new horse, slowly over time you start having more 'I am so pleased I bought him days' compared to 'I am not sure days'. It is completely normal, just bear with it for a while, try and enjoy...
