Unfortunately he's now 17.2hh! I wasn't looking for a big one at all, and almost discounted looking at him when he was 4 years old and 16.2, but I went and fell in love :o The sad thing is he's still growing too, which means regular saddle changes and rugs don't last more than a season :mad...
I have an Andalusian cross TB, he is 6 years old (and some how grew freakishly tall!) by Excelso, a 16.1hh Andalusian out of Palargo a PSG TB
He is athletic with paces to die for, but does have some of that Spanish 'hotness' and a temperament that not everyone could deal with...
Lieto is 6 and gets ridden 5-6 times a week
3 x flatwork lessons, 40 minutes work plus 20 warm up/cool down.
1 x session being ridden by our trainer, depending on how much time she has it is between 25 minutes and 40.
1 or 2 trail rides a week, usually between 5 and 8 miles, with enough hill...
Very possible! I juggle running my own business (a store) with my OH, a tempremental 6 year old dressage horse, and having riding lessons 3 times a week.
Being my own boss does make things a lot easier, as we can sort out ordering stock etc at any time thanks to the wonder of the internet...
