I believe riders are now allowed to take 2 helpers per horse to BE events from today - 12th April. Not sure about other competitions though, SJ, BD, so maybe it's up to the organisers.

Completely agree with removing partition or swapping sides. My horse likes to have his right hind spread so will only travel on left hand side of trailer & next to the ramp in a lorry. It is very frightening when they scrabble but giving more room usually works. Try it!

I agree with all the above comments - you need to set aside some time to train your horse to stand quietly at the mounting block whilst you get on. I had a pony who was tricky to mount - I spent one session literally just standing him up to the block, getting on, walking round the field, then...

Looking for recommendations for rechargeable trimmers. There is quite a choice & vary from really cheap to mega expensive! Don't really want to spend a fortune & will only be used for trimming beards , chins , ears etc - no body clipping. What does everyone use & recommend ? Thank you!

I am in this boat too but , like others have said, I always really enjoy my ride when I make the effort. I do this for fun these days & if it is cold , wet & windy & dark I don't enjoy riding & neither does my pony so we leave it until another day. I don't feel guilty as I know we will make up...
