I had an Earl of Castlefrench horse. He did not have perfect conformation, his upright shoulder (a trait also apparent on yours) meant he struggled to get to medium dressage & also made him jar up when eventing. Nonetheless he was the best horse I ever had, I really wish I could have another...
I think anybody who is willing to pay full livery wants good facilities (tend to be money "rich", time poor.... and normally have to ride in the dark!). I know the area relatively well and there does not seem to be much on offer for full/part livery on a small yard, but their is a more options...
In my (somewhat sheltered opinion) the decision on whether a horse requires a "made to measure" saddle or an "off the peg" saddle depends on the horse. If you have something that is relatively "standard" sized then you should be fine off the peg, however it is has quirk (i.e. unusually short in...
^ This is really clever - have you ever considered taking the idea to Dragon's Den :D
We have this issue. We used to take it home but now the farmer lets us use a field that is away from the road. We also hide it in a hedge. We have not had an issue yet, but I will have a rethink before Appleby!

Maybe I should just sack it off until Spring when he is hair free! Its easier to get...
That's a fair point, I had not really thought about the v&m side of things, the field is pretty exhausted!
Pony does not get a huge amount of work (2x school, 2x hack). Hes only 4 though, so still only has baby fitness! I cant think that he's bored, the school work is pretty limited, and our...
I have a native who is seriously lacking in energy; I would like to start giving him some hard feed, however he is not thin. I really struggle to keep weight off of him. I am aware that hard feed would just be adding Kcal, that I already have to restrict.
Has anybody got any suggestions for...
We have a Blue Cross Pony on our yard, they offer a lot of support and are extremely professional to deal with. If you interested in using a rehoming centre, I remembered this old H&H article which has some good contacts and makes an interesting read...
Hearing (the normally aloof) Obama speak tonight one would hope that the gun laws in the USA will be reviewed. Im not entirely sure that this will be the case.
May the families be comforted by the outpouring of grief and love surrounding them. As the lives of their kin have been wasted, I hope...
