Just an update had the saddle fitter out the saddle is too long for her back so got a 16.5" coming and the gullet bar was too small so had the saddle fitter change the bar in the saddle I got with her which ill change into her new saddle once it arrives :)

Just an update ive rode her today didnt put a hoof out of place no bucking at all just relaxed and a nice ride as for her saddle its tending to slip bit I have a saddle fitter coming out next week to check it and her back over :) will update afterwards

Just an update ive used pig oil and sulphur not so long ago washed her legs in an insecticide shampoo daily grooming as always and the scabs have come away from the skin and looking healthy and not sore :) so its a big improvement

I love my traditional coloured cob mare cos shes got pretty soft loving eyes, lovely unique markings, shes my first horse and teaching each other alot, mutual respect (although when in season she can be a nightmare) ive only owned her since march and being a novice in all aspects shes been so...

I've had a look at the thorowgood cob gp saddle today it looks comfy and a deeper seat than my wintec and more padding ill see what the saddle fitter says when he comes out :)

is it best to clip feathers? i didnt want to if i didnt really have to as they are coming lovely apart from the scabs

from what i can make out that she never came to the yard with doing the bunny hop but previous owner and riders let her get away with it and now its stuck as she knew it got her out of working, checked tack and thats all fine. shes slowly getting better and it only lasts 3-5 mins at the most

She stamps her feet but not as much as she used to as ive been trying my best to make her comfortable and trying to soothe the itchiness and soreness, I do have an insecticide shampoo which was given to me so will try that next time rather than the hibbiscrub

yeah ive noticed a lot of people saying their cob has mites or mud fever

ill try the benzal first if this pig oil doesn't work and see if i have any joy with that if not ill have to call the vet and get her sorted. do you have a cob also?
