My mare had had her saddle RE-flocked and checked twice now. They said it fit but the physio had said that it is causing her discomfort. I'm inclined to think I need to buy a new saddle rather than getting a new saddle fitter because I have Katie Eaton and I know she comes highly recommended...
My horse (TB x Welsh D) is super fussy with hay and haylage. She will not touch the haylage I have at the moment which I think is meadow hay, but it is really sweet smelling, moist and fine. I have recently found that she loves italian ryegrass haylage but from further inspection it has a huge...
I have a mare who loves prat about in the field (all the time!) and I'm certain she's going to hurt herself eventually. She's never cut or hurt herself before but I don't want to wait for it to happen. I was wondering if I should get her some turn out boots to wear because it would be nice to...
Hi Guys,
I am looking for DIY livery for my mare in cambrigeshire. I live in St Ives but work in Hinxton so anywhere along the way really. I am looking for a floodlit arena and decent sized stables. I have been told about College Farm in Fen Drayton but can't seem to find a number that works...
Hi Guys,
I'm clipping my horse this weekend and she will definitely need sedation for it or there is no way we'll get near her. I was wondering whether I should get some from the vet or whether I could get something else. I didn't know whether prokalm is strong enough or whether I'd need a...
Thanks for all your help guys, I'm going to have a look at all of these instructors and figure out which would be the best for me and May. I really appreciate the help! Hopefully we'll find someone we both get on with.
Hi Guys,
Does anyone know of any good dressage instructors in the Cambridgeshire area? I am looking for someone who will train my horse and I together (she's young and I've never had formal dressage training). If you know the prices or have links that would be fab, I'm based in St Ives...
That's a great idea, she loves extra strong mints, I'll give that a go :) I might grab some ale as well because they say that hops is a good calmer ;) thank you so much
Do she get a hard feed? If so make sure it is high in fibre because that can prevent stress and also giving her a calmer I'd suggest something with vervain and chamomille, also as Bronkers2 said magnesium is a good one (can get licks supplmented with it so may help boredom too)
Hi Guys,
I have just added a new supplement into my horse's feed (I only added a bit to get her used to it) but as it turns out she either doesn't like the smells or the taste. What can I put in there to make her eat it? It's a a herb that is used as a natural calmer and if she doesn't have...
Thanks for the feedback I have looked at both all of those options and I am taken by the PGC and the coursera thing, however I have been waiting a few months for the coursera course to become available and it doesn't say when it will start up again, but when it does then I'm definitely...
Hi guys,
I'm just putting the feelers out just to see if this is worth while. I have been thinking for a long time now about going into equine nutrition, I have a degree in biochemistry and am going to be doing an MSc in nutrition hopefully. In the meantime I am looking to go on an equine...
Hi everyone,
I'm new to H&H and I would firstly like to introduce myself. I'm Lucy, I have a degree in Biochemistry from Manchester and I'm currently working in the lab at Illumina. I have a gorgeous but uttering mad welsh D x TB called May, angel in the stable devil in the school ;)
I...
