I think it depends upon whether you want to do a degree after college or not. I say this because if you want to work with horses (on a yard), employers don't care if you have qualifications in equine or not its whether you have practical experience, general common sense and good work ethic. So...

Thanks again. Very interesting. I would love to take my study further down the science route, however, with the lack of funds and equipment this won't be possible. I am planning to do a masters in equine behaviour though, so hopefully then!
