Thank you all - that is all extremely helpful! Doesn't sound as bad as I expected, and the plus side is that madam likes to eat her straw so it will put a stop to that as well!
My mare is evil having her girth done up - no medical conditions, just grumpy. I have found an elastic acted girth is much, much better and now all I get is a glare, rather than a lunge at me! Oh, and I have learnt to keep my eyes on her and move quick, just in case!!!
Hi all,
I have managed to secure a place at a brilliant yard - the only downside is that I will need to use shavings (my mare has been on straw forever). She is quite wet, but poos in the same two or three places on straw, and I tend to get through three bales a week (but I am VERY fussy)...
Thank you all - I need to have a conversation with her and explain that it is not working. It really is a shame but maybe she wants out anyway. Will speak to her tonight, then start the painful search for a new sharer!
Please help! Don't want to act unreasonably....
I have a sharer who is very inexperienced. I knew this from the start and was happy that as long as she had lessons with my horse and instructor, then that was ok. She has shared now for about a year and has not really come on at all. Her...
Thank you! I only thought about it the other night....but once I thought of it I couldn't let go until I checked! I know a girl who has got into bother with HMRC over doing jobs for people for cash, and I know that is completely different, but wasn't sure how much!
Thank you, that's what I thought. I'm certainly not making a profit (if only!) ;)
But wasn't sure if it constituted 'income' or not.
I will put it straight back out of my mind!
Is the income from your horse's sharer theoretically declarable to HMRC? And if not, why not? Is it classed as covering expenses or something?
Sorry if it is a really dumb question...:o
And how do you 'manage' them? Is it purely for financial purposes?
Do you think it is ok for your horse to have several riders?
Interested in people's thoughts!
Thanks x
For a 15.2hh heavyweight cob? The website says that they measure up big, but not sure if the medium will be too small for her as she is a big lady! But it also says that the large is LARGE...!
Anyone have any ideas please?
Same here. I am a bit of a nervy creature so like to go out with others, but not possible. My old yard, for all its faults, had loads of hacking buddies. Feel your pain!
