Advice needed - Is it possible to get a footpath changed to a bridlepath?

I don't know the answer (sorry) but it will be interesting to see what suggestions people come up with! You could try the local authority Access Officer (or similar title) - most county councils have someone responsible for footpaths and bridleways and I've always found them very helpful...

    Hybrids...not mongrels

when did crossbreed dogs stop being called what they are ie a 'labrador x springer spaniel cross' and start being given cutsie names like 'springador'? Was the labradoodle the first? Surely, until the traits breed true, a cross breed remains a crossbreed not a puggle, or a labradoodle, or...

Owner now says she won't sell the horse I have on loan with view to buy!?

In addition to all the advice above, are you a BHS member? Try phoning them up for legal advice - it's oneof the membership benefits so worth a go. Also, if the SSPCA were invovled and she was banned from keeping more than a certian number of horses, perhaps its worth calling them and...

New horse not interested in people? Ideas what to do?

I'll second Silmarillions recommendation to contact Sarah Weston and see if either she is close enough to help you herself or can recommend someone in your area - I've seen her work with horses and she's firm but fair and the horses seemed to recognise her as a person to look to for...

Any equestrian empoyment law experts on here?

Thanks for your thoughts! Her previous employers seem to have been nice people who have just lost the money to pay her - one of the problems of a small professional yard with a couple of major clients, I guess - and she is grateful for the 2 weeks pay! Surely a 'verbal contract', while it...

    Seat Savers

it depends on your saddle (or the one you will be riding in!). they can really help your position and make riding more comfy I have an Enlightened Equitation seatbone saver and although I don't need it on my current saddle, I always take it with me on riding holidays and it's been worth its'...

    Wellie woes

it shouldn't be necessary, but when my Muckboots started to crack and leak, I wore Sealskinz waterproof socks inside - made the boots last a bit longer and kept my feet warm! Isn't it a bonkers world when socks keep your feed drier than wellies?

    Ifor Williams trailers

I have a 506 and my 15.3hh cobby Irish Sport horse travels fine in it - but I've also travelled an 18.2 TBxID in comfort with room to spare! The difference between the 506 and the 511 is not height but length (and maybe width, I'm not sure about that!) I remember talking to teh sales chappy at...

Any equestrian empoyment law experts on here?

Hi there A young friend of mine has just been 'let go' by the showjumping yard she was working for (been there about 4-6 weeks) because they had lost one owner (with 7 horses) and therefore couldnt afford to pay her any more. They've given her 2 weeks pay but she's now back looking for work...

Seatbelts for Pajero - any suggestions?

Not strickly speaking a horse or hound related question - other than it was my hound that chewed the seatbelt! My Japanese Import Pajero needs a replacement seatbelt on the rear seat in order to pass the MOT - and the dealers say it has to be ordered from Japan (with several weeks delivery...
