would you be happy with this childs pony? Very worried about my cousins child!

she has never owned a horse, she used to help out on my dads yard when we were children. I kind of feel its the pony she never had. He is terrified of him and she said he will need to stop being a baby and get on with it

please tell me i am not being over protective! My cousin has recentley taken a pony on full loan for her child, the pony is supposed to be a lead rein to first ridden pony but i am very worried that he is more of a teenagers pony not a very slightly built 7 year old! He does not like his feet...

What supplements do horses really need?

its been quite a few years since i owned but when i did you didnt rug natives and you didnt feed supplements apart from a salt lick my mare was on pony nuts, bran mash and hay! Its all so different now,i would probably get lynched if i did that now.

this may seem a strange question-but

i got dragged by a 20yr old pony yesterday that has prob never been taught ground manners consistently, i would say its better to teach them to lead nicely from as early as possible to stop bad habits forming.

How much do your childrens ponies keep cost you?

my daughter is 6 and shares a pony. The original idea was that she would eventually loan him, however he has a few personality quirks which the owner is fine with but that i do not like, also the natives can be prone to lami to just make sure you consider that. Her share pony has been great for...

    desperateley seeking Nicky.

probably a huge long shot but just wondering if anyone knew or knew of my old pony. Nicky would be into her early 30's now, beautiful 12.2h grey welsh mare. Total angel, would have trusted her with a baby on her back. Quite slightly built, suffered with laminitis. Was sold to a lady in the...

    confidence really low

thank you all so much. Have since found out he actually does that to everybody apart from my friend and her children, so actually he is a very naughty boy that needs to be taught properly. I would never allow my horse to behave that way, some friend eh!

    Teenage helpers... your opinion??

i was one! Used to get up at 5.30am and ride my bike a mile to the yard, feed 20 horses and ponies before school, then be back up there after school to muck out etc got to ride some lovely horses but also got lots of abuse from unkind owners that didnt appreciate my dedication and took me for...

you would think i had never been around horses from this post but i started riding aged 3, owned my own for 10years, but have taken a break for a number of years due to various reasons. I am having lessons again because i took such a long break and would hope to own again in a couple of years...

    confidence really low

well there was me thinking my confidence in the saddle was just the problem, seems not! Went to help my friend today with her pony, was so looking forward to it. She told me he is bombproof, never kicks, bites etc her kids can lead him in from the field even. So i managed to catch him pretty...
