    Heel bulb overreach

My little ex racehorse and I are entered to race in a charity race in under 2 weeks time. 2 days ago he was being a prat in the turnout area and managed to overreach and pull a shoe off. The overreach wound is on the heel bulb and seems to have pulled where the hairy skin meets the skin leading...

    Gelding that wee's A LOT!!

Thank you all for your thoughts, I am going to get him checked out even if it for peace of mind. We think that is might be slight nerves/excitement when he is anticipating going out riding. Fingers crossed that is all it is as he is only just turning 9 so something like cushing's would be...

    Gelding that wee's A LOT!!

Hi, I have recently bought a lovely ex racehorse straight out of training. All is going well with him but I have noticed that whenever I have him in he pee's alot. He will generally go as soon as I bring him in, even if he is on concrete, and then he will go straight after I have ridden him, he...

    Boney leg injury

That gives me a lot more confidence, and makes me think it is most probably an extosis and hopefully not something more sinister! She will have a few quiet weeks now until the new year (especially with the absess) but will hopefully be able to do a few days hunting before the spring season...

    Boney leg injury

That was my immediate thought as well, sounds identical to your tb. That's what I thought, she tough, but she is not that tough. It's quite likely that she may have got herself in trouble in the field then combined with the brewing foot abscess it has made me think the worse-and feel guilty...

    Boney leg injury

It didn't originally present itself as an injury, the horse was not sore, lame nor was it tender to touch or have any heat in it at all. There has been no heat or puffyness in it at all until I rode her today, and then it was really hot immediately afterwards and sore to touch but then after...

    Boney leg injury

That's what I'm thinking, I was really worried immediately but after cold hosing the heat when completely, and not sure if they will be able to judge it well with the suspect foot abscess?

    Boney leg injury

Hi, I have a 16 hand thoroughbred mare who I team chase and hunt as well as a bit of everything else. She has done 4 team chases so far this season. At the grafton, which was her 2nd this season( on good ground compared to atherstone when it was still very hard) she developed a hard boney lump...

    Towing a trailer, completely confused!!

Thanks Rog, it was a nissan terrano with an ifor williams trailer that it used for logs, it was as high as the vehicle but I have no idea of the name of it, the woodmen just said that that was the weight. I didn't even want to take the test, I wanted to go on the course first, which I will do...

    Towing a trailer, completely confused!!

Its so confusing. The vehicle weighs 1705, the trailer weighs 905. So with the 600 thats still only 3,210? Im going to go on the day course with the test the next day now so that I can use a suitable vehicle and go knowing that everything is ok.

    Towing a trailer, completely confused!!

Thanks for your reply, I understand that, we made a silly mistake on short time. What I don't understand is the fact that after studying the gov.uk website which says you can tow up to a combined weight of 3.5 tonne, the examiner is telling me that I can't tow it at all? Even though it was...

    Towing a trailer, completely confused!!

Hi, So I went to my trailer test today and was told on arrival that the load we had put in the trailer was not adequate for me to take the test. We were told that you must put 600kg in, which we had but it wasn't in clear bags or with the weight stamped obviously on the side. Anyway on...
