Hi Alyth,
thank very much for your reply, I am glad that you love it so much over in N.Z. I have always heard such good things about the country, and it has been a dream of my partner and me to emigrate, now my partner has a job offer it has suddenly become very real. I cannot travel out at the...
My partner has been offered a job in Wellington N.Z. I cannot Finance flying out my lovely horse. If I decide to follow my partner I will have to rehome my horse. If I can find the right home for him and decide to come out to NZ what are my chances of finding a share horse or buying a horse in...
As above, I have been told by makers of my new saddle that oiling it is not good for it , is this generally known, have I been misguided in normally oiling my tack? Call me old fashioned but I thought it was good for it!
Hi Blue Whippet - Yes I am in Devon, please can you give me Julia Garretts contact info. Thank you very much.
Thank you also Ihotse for the info. about The Arabian Horse Company I will investigate them as well.
Many thanks to you all, you are all such a help on this forum x
Thank you for all your helpful replies. I am going to research your suggestions. The saddle that now does not fit is an Ideal, which until now I found very comfortable, but it is a heavy saddle, and as ned has had back problems in the past I would like to find something lighter for him.
Thank you, I will try Arabian Lines, did not think of that.
The saddler who ripped me off is well known and I am sure would not hesitate to sue me if I mentioned her by name.
Sorry I know its been a topic before, but I am seriously concerned about what I am going to do. My Arab is 14.2 in addition to the above he is short coupled and has had a bad back in the past, when I bought him, 5 yrs ago.
I think he is a bit lopsided as the old saddle slipped to the right...
Thank you for your replies, I am still unsure what to do, if ride in the saddle more and it is still not feeling right I will forfeit the right to return it, but conversely if I persevere it might be ok, oh dear, I just want a saddle to fit my boy.........!
As above, Just bought online the Pony club 16" T4 for my flat withered flat, short backed 14.2 Arab and sat on it today and felt very perched and insecure, I am going to ride in it tomorrrow for 3/4 hr and see how it feels then. Problem is that if it is not right I have to return the saddle in...
Hi there,
I have just bought my flat backed low withered Arab a thorowgood T4 on recommendation from my saddler, I have not received it yet, but am looking forward to it and hoping it will be good, I think the adjustable gullet will be very useful, plus it is nice and light, my friend swears...
Thank you for your help, I was considering getting a secondhand one, but I will think twice now. Any other suggestions for my ned? Who does tend to change shape, what are peeps thoughts on Barefoot Treeless?
As above - what are your opinions of them? Thinking of getting a 16" dressage pony one for my flat withered flat backed 14.2 Arab, I am a size 10 so would this be suitable, it would be mainly for hacking and pleasure rides?
Would very much appreciate your advice. Thank you !
