    Affiliating BD

If your horse has 3 correct paces there is no reason not to try your hand at BD. There are all sorts of horses competing and if you ride an accurate test with a pleasing rhythm you will have a nice day out. Depending on the judge 😀

    Stable deodoriser

Lincoln stable deodoriser. It’s a powder and about £12 for a 4kg tub. I use it and it is very good

If you have native ponies fit enough to compete successfully (SJ or similar) at amateur levels, what does your week look like in terms of work?

My compete my Welsh D all year round at all 3 discipline. I don’t hack as much as you but do more schooling for shorter periods and interval training. Again in school if the ground is hard. I find she can be more lethargic in summer when carrying a little more weight and living out 24/7 so i try...

If you’ve sold your box recently, did you sell privately or through a dealer?

Sold mine privately to a nice lady who was actually the first and only person that came to view it. loads of enquiries but never heard from them again. The lady sent her mechanic and he inspected it and it sold for asking price. it was low mileage and in good condition. I put it on FB...

    Becoming a dressage judge

As previous posters have said it takes a lot of work, time and money to become a listed judge. It would be physically impossible to complete this in a short period of time because if starting from scratch there are a number of on line modules to complete, writing x30 horses, sitting in for 30...

I have come to the conclusion im weird…

I have two Welsh cobs and a fancy warmblood. All live together and it was the best thing ever for the warmblood as it turned her from a neurotic worrywart to a normal horse. in her previous home she wouldn’t stay out for more than an hour lives out 24/7 now ? watching them all together is a...

    Adult on native ponies

I have two Welsh D‘s. Both 16.1. There are really versatile and fun. I evented one up to BE Novice only stopping at that as it was too big for me. She would have kept going. The other one has been to British riding club championships in every discipline. so go for it ?

    Riding whilst missing a shoe

My girl ripped her front show off just before I set of to the RC combined training qualifiers I took a chance and went. Managed to qualify for the championship, so if the dressage judge didn’t notice I think you might be ok. That said mine is a robust Welsh cob.

    Field Farm, Mumby?

Hi I have been a few times. It’s a nice ride to the beach along a track then a little bit of road work. Maybe 25 minutes to get to beach. you can ride on the beach for miles. We went to the next resort and had a beer and some chips. There is a little xc course at Field farm as well. People who...

    Horses and Alpacas?

    Horses and Alpacas?

My two horses killed an alpaca that was in the field with them. They cornered it and kicked it to death. Very strange as both are gentle creatures that have never hurt another animal, including my border collie who rounds them up all day long. The farmer that owned him thought it might have been...
