Thanks everyone!
I can't do this ^ though unfortunately as I don't have my own horse. I'm supposed to ride my share horse several times per week and usually with the owner while she rides her other horse. It would not be acceptable to her to say I didn't want to ride because of the weather...
It is very, very common to wait until after the first scan. Chance of miscarriage is much much higher than you may think. I won't be telling my friends or employer until minimum 3 months, even my family won't be told for the first while. I certainly don't want a whole yard knowing and I can't...
Thanks all! I guessed a made up injury would probably be the solution, but didn't know if there were any other good ideas. I'll just have to be careful choosing my injury so I can still do the things I want to do without arousing suspicion!
Can I have stories from any riders who have not wanted to ride at all while pregnant, but wanted to hide their pregnancy until the 3+ month mark?
What have you told people?
Interested to hear from all but the situation would be sharing a horse from a friend and sometimes riding some other...
Can hats be checked thoroughly for damage?
I had a fall the other day in the school and whilst it was on sand, I did bash my head enough for it to hurt a fair bit so I was considering getting a new hat this weekend, or as soon as I can get to the shop. It was £120 and I only bought it fairly...
Thanks!
So I may be fine for all disciplines if I buy:
Blue tweed jacket
Brown gloves
Navy stock
and navy hat silk?
Then my outfit will be (top to bottom):
Navy hat silk
Blue tweed jacket
Navy stock
White shirt
Brown gloves
Beige jodhpurs
Black boots.
There are lots of sharers (or loaners) like me who'd give her lots of love and attention while you don't have time. If you can keep her on your yard (which is normal for sharing, and not that unusual for loaning) then it's even better for you. Just try them out first then have a trial period as...
Thanks. And if I went for tweed, is blue tweed a good option? Does it ever matter which colour tweed or is it always personal preference?
I read somewhere that you shouldn't wear black gloves but I wasn't sure if that advice was specific to one discipline. But then I thought if I got brown...
In what way does she go poorly in the paddock? Perhaps if she is slipping about in canter then just do steady walk/trot work with her there during the week and do canter work on hacks if you can? It does sound like a tricky situation.
Ooh I'd love to know the answer to this, I've been thinking the exact same. I'm not moving them myself as much now but they're definitely moving/jiggling! And he is behind the leg naturally so I'm really not helping matters.
Hello everyone,
I know there have been many threads about outfits, and I've read tons of them, but just can't quite seem to piece together a full answer for my question and seem to come across conflicting advice.
The situation is that there's a horse I ride at the moment (grey) and I have...
Aw, it's a difficult situation to be in. :(
I would def ask for bank transfers though. I don't think you'd be hassling them if you word it nicely. Something like saying that someone's money went missing this week, accidents happen and you accept that leaving money in the grooming box is risky...
The Usborne Guide to Riding and Pony Care. Not sure of the date as it's in a box atm - I would have acquired it in the early 90s but I'm sure it's early 80s at least. The pictures suggest possibly 70s.
Surprised to see it's still on sale somewhere...
