hi
I had a mare who was just like yours on box rest. Started ok but then got very upset, kicking the stable to bits.
I found it was all jealousy. She was bored and hated not being given lots of attention which would also happen when you ride. She got even more upset when she saw me groom /...
I also forgot to add about - hypnosis - it won't change your ability but it does stop you focussing on the fear and allows you to focus/think about how you should do it. So in jumping it might stop you thinking you 'll hurt yourself and allow you to think about the approach to the fence, your...
yes it does work. Also, have your thought of Hypnosis? A while ago I completely lost my nerve to even get on my horse after it bolted for an odd reason. I'd ridden since a child/done PC teams/evented, yet suddenly I felt sick at the thought of riding which was ridiculous as the horse was safe...
maybe the organiser will have a word with the judge re behaviour. If they dont and the judge does it again, other competitors won't like it either and they'll possibly vote with their feet and go elsewhere to compete.
If the venue looses entries because of it then the organisers will have to do...
Absolutely nothing! The trainer was so busy shouting and being rude I couldn't concentrate. They critised everything so much I gave up trying to please them.
There are too many other trainers out there who do know how to teach and coach and help you learn & improve. Why pay to be insulted?
i had a lesson once with someone who had the attitude of your judge. To start with I felt mad at being spoken to like some child who had done something wicked in the playground. Then I thought I'm PAYING to be spoken to like this and thought "this is ridiculous". I got a fit of the giggles at...
i have friends who are dressage judges and I've been a writer many times. That judge was not doing herself any favours. Of course riders don't always do every movement perfectly or if we did then we'd get 10 for everything. Should have only beeped if it was an error of course...
I think you'll be near Murphy's tack shop? Have a look in there as there are often notices from people advertising that type of service. You could also call Equicraft too as I'm sure they will know people who do that too
Why is it that when given the title of "Dressage Judge" for a few hours some people think it is an excuse to behave anyway they like and the ruder they are then the more important they are and less important you are?? !!
I know there are many many nice judges out ther.
However when...
Yes it is a nightmare. I had issues with a saddle made to measure for my horse by nathanial. It was totally crooked not just on my horse but on other horses with other riders. Nathanial wouldn't have do anything about it. Society of Master Saddlers wouldn't help me at all....no-one wants to rock...
The NEW greenguard muzzle is the best.
I've tried several including the shires/roma one and the older style Greenguard one too.
Mine go out for 12hrs in them. This may be more than recommended but if fitted correctly they don't rub plus its better than keeping them in a stable to stop them...
Many thanks for all your help.
Has anyone used a "close contact" or mono-slap dressage saddle on this type of horse? Any feedback on that type of saddle?
i agree with cambridgeparamour.
And yes you can be progress back to working trot. I would go for quality of movement over quantity. So maybe show less but get it right rather than trying to medium work the full length between the markers and pushing the horse too far as to lose balance.
