Yes, being marked down does seem to be the common thought. laracroft - how do you think you fared when showing in it? Do you feel maybe you were marked down, or got withering looks from judges or other competitors?

Thanks all...it looks like I'll have to get a traditional bridle just for showing then. It seems a shame that you can use other things/'gadgets' like martingales and the like - which my mare doesn't need - but put a slightly different looking bridle on and you potentially get marked down. Oh...
