He got nick named boomerang because the problems started after i got my second horse. Like i say i waited a good 6 months i thought he was sorted.
I know this is my problem and god knows its killing me. I cant remember the last time i was actually happy. Im doing my best by them and resent the...
Also id like to say before this horse i had my old horse 20 years to the age of 38 and i too had to give up riding for a very long time. It wasnt a decision it just had to happen and id have had it no other way.
This question is less about money more about this particular horse and the way he...
Ok-
Where did i say he was likely to return???
I permenantly signed him over to a TB rescue/rehoming centre where they guarenteed him a good home for the rest of his life. It took a lot of thinking and heart ache to do this but they seemed the most amazing home. 6 months later i took the...
As some of you may remember from my at times slightly hysterical posts (!) i have a TB who ive tried to get to grips with- often for months at a time successfully other times its a nightmare relationship.
I rehomed him twice but he keeps coming home hence the nick name Boomerang! He's a...
Anyone got any idea what a leather saddle- alone no stirrups would weigh? Im getting courier quotes to post it but have no scales. Also does it matter if i OVER estimate the weight and book a collection?
So your horse is actually doing NOTHING wrong? hers is playing up and its YOUR fault???
You could point out if your horse was a rig he'd probably be doing his nut and breaking out with her mare behaving like that- the very fact he's not is almost proof he's a gelding (and a very good one!)
What or where is this blood bank? I hear so many recommendations to people to try them for various reasons. What sort of life does a blood bank horse lead?
Oh for electric, hot water a toilet.....
Seriously though i would choose decent turn out over any facilities- That would be my main thing.
A lady i work for sometimes has stop taps on every water trough and they are raised with a plug at the bottom (connected to drains- proper luxury!) this...
Hi, My Tb had horrendous feet for the first couple of years out of racing ( though he was nicely shod when i got him- Im not blaming the trainer or anything!!)
It got to the point i couldnt ride at all- he couldnt have shoes on because there was nothing to fix a shoe too. He walked on his frog...
hehe, I shared this on my FB recently.
My OH is actually very very good. I couldnt do it without him anymore either financially or otherwise he helps so much ;-)
Ive not read all the replies sorry but just to say its calmness and not rushing things in my opinion!
When i was at a livery yard my horse was hideous to load and everyone tried to join in with various different methods. cue very stressed me and a horse who was terrified and very suspicious of...
I have to agree with the turn outs indoors idea apart from saving time they dry so much better on a horse than hanging over hay bales!
I wish i hadnt bothered really with stable rugs as i rarely use them other than as under rugs when its very cold.
Id get another heavy turn out. Snuggy hoods...
Lol, TBH this is a very old problem- in fact it was THE problem with him really and the reason i had to rehome- The rehoming incidentaly was to a TB rescue centre so very experienced at dealing with highly strung horses.
It just kind of surprised me today to hear my bosses discussing my horses...
Story is ive always had problems he's a real handful at times and can be a complete goon! Rehomed him 18 mths ago as couldnt cope with him and 10 yr old daughter on a youngster- at least with her old pony i knew she was safe what ever my horse was up to!
He came back as they couldnt cope with...
