I've noticed that household fly spray has Tetramethrin and Permethrin in it. I can't find anything online that suggests these two chemicals are toxic or carcinogenic for equines. That being said, what do people think about them being used in this form for treating feather mites?

Some of this sounds very similar to what's been reported in the American mid West as 'UFO cattle mutilations' and the surrounding hysteria. Turns out after scientific study that these were just natural deaths, followed by scavenger predation. I wonder if the same could be applied to these...
