Hi,
We have no water supply to our fields other than a ditch which we fill buckets from to fill a water trough. I have a couple of the old orange juice butts which I can store water in.
Can anyone recommend a battery powered water pump? I can then fill these up when the ditch/stream is...
The farmer is selling up ( yard and 5 acres to housing) we have some of the grazing already so not an issue to leave empty 2 months a year. It's Somerset.
Have the opportunity to lease 16 acres on a ten month renewable grass lease. It's unimproved grazing, not been fertilised or ploughed for at least 15 years. Any idea on going rate? Has water but no shelters etc.
I was thinking £100 per acre
Try totally tack in frome, great shop and ask them if they know anywhere also again in frome moley valley farmers notice board.
All depends what side of bath you are, lots of livery out wellow way
Hi, sounds like a steep learning curve! Shame to say but this is getting more common. If you are intending your horse to be turned out most of the time the you need far more land than what you have been allowing for especially if you can't rest it at all. As others have said find a DIY livery...
My 8 year old Arab has been diagnosed with subchondral bone pain in fetlocks. Looking for advice on training and fittening regimes for when he comes back into work, he is currently on 6 weeks 30 mins a days walking under saddle , good to talk to anyone with experience of this and ideas on long...
Rather take a scatter gun approach first do everything to ensure not pain related. Assume whoever treating your horse has informed your vet and you have discussed this with your vet. I would then look at behaviour especially as horse had no turn out etc and have only had for 4 months
As others had said discomfort most obvious. However if you have only had him 4 months it may be now he has settled decided to test a few boundaries and has gone bit sour with schooling.
If still happy jumping etc see what he is like schooling out in a different envoiroment and if happy to work...
But that is how science works, taking anecdotal evidence and then Looking at all the different possible causes and designing a trial to test the hypothesis, the best being a double blind. Personally I just don't know if magnetic therapy works or not but clearly some people have a positive...
This thread is a wonderful example of how the vitamin industry etc makes so much money. What I am reading here is the classic example of confusing correlation with causation and positive cognitive distortion, ie how our beliefs cause us to filter evidence.
It also means that those who believe...
Ha ha, completely agree op. not only that but have you noticed special intro offers etc are always women's range of clothes, even a recent HH one for years subscription had no men's gear ( that I could see) maybe there's a market opportunity here
