    Dogs and horse wormers

I always kept wormer droppings well away from any dogs. I understood they were potentially fatal. I always worry if they find fresh droppings on a walk.

Anyone seen the recent Lucinda Green video with Tom McEwan on FB?

I am becoming more and more disillusioned with horse sport. I went off SJ a few years ago, CJD made me re-evaluate dressage and I stupidly thought eventing was cleaner. I think I'm done which is such a pity as its something I have enjoyed for 30+years as an adult and loved as a child🙁. I took a...

    Harlow White

I I don't think you can accuse a minor of organising some years of earning and living via the Internet. That accusation belongs to those adults who "care" for her. Her riding is also the product of instruction at her age so criticisms belong to adults yet again. Happy to debate the...

    Colic a displaced colon.

No idea but didn't want to read and run. I hope he improves soon.

    CDJ withdrawn from paris

We bought a really well bred youngster many years ago from proper eventing lines and a rrputable event yard. He was dreadful at xc. Amazing dressage and ok SJ but cantered slowly round xc carefully avoiding all the jumps despite a determined rider😂. He wasnt beaten round the course. He was given...

    Sore across and around shoulders

My immediate thought was bilateral front lameness. The less open in front and got better with work sounds very similar to one of ours. The vet was absolutely convinced he was sound as a pound on a hard surface circle and ridden on a surface, but daughter insisted something was off. Nerve blocks...

    At a loss

You've done your best. Not everything is fixable. He's lucky to have an owner who cares enough. X

    At a loss

If money is short and you're emotionally worn out I'd call it a day. He's got so many issues I'd probably PTS now. He's unlikely to do well long term and sounds as if he's getting worse. Its a horrible position to be in.

    At a loss

He's got a lot going on. If you're really determined I'd guess shoes off, boots and pads and leave him alone even if you have to bring him in at night. Reassess in 6 months. Bute etc as needed for comfort. IME, which is limited but painful, SI joint problems are often secondary to PSD and/or...

Uh oh.. I think I’m entering “Sh*tland” territory!

Make sure the bottom strand is low enough. We had one that would lie on his side and sort of wriggle under. His sh*tland companion went too of course. After they'd eaten half the hay field they were too bloated to get back under. Friends shetlands used to share a stable. They were clipped as...

horse accidentally eaten another horses feed

Non horsey builders laying a new concrete base and path at a livery yard once fed our TB sausage rolls. He was in on box rest and very friendly. When they ate lunch he whinnied so they thought he was hungry. He seemed to like sausage rolls so they brought him extra the next day😂. On day 3 they...

horse accidentally eaten another horses feed

To be honest it's one feed. Ours escaped and ate a few breakfasts outside other stables he was fine. Friend had 2 sh*tlands who broke into feedstore and ate a large amount of unsoaked sugar beet overnight. Both were fine. I don't think I'd give yours a hard feed but I probably wouldn't limit...

    Meet my puppy

How absolutely gorgeous. I'd just be calling him sweetheart, darling, pudding, angel etc.😍 my dogs are often referred to as chicken as is my granddaughter so no sensible ideas from me.
