Yeah I've decided to stay. It means I can check earlyish tomorrow (8:00 am) and then he will be checked again at about 7:00 pm that evening.
The problem is vets/grooms/friends cannot do anything with him alone as he would go mental. He is a difficult horse which has meant I don't get much of...
I didn't want to out myself completely but I can't drive so person looking after horse has to drive me. Not ideal I know but horse has issues and it is not fair to expect anyone else to look after him as would be vicious to someone they didn't know. If they got near him would bite, kick, lunge...
Sorry I know I'm being really contrary but the person who looks in does it when walking dog, has no idea about horses and would only notice something really off. The person is elderly and only looks from the gate, I couldn't ask them and would worry them if I did.
I'm just stood here watching...
No there isn't, well there is someone who looks in and would see a leg hanging off but would have no idea if horse was colicky.
If it makes any difference horse is now eating tea and did pass droppings earlier.
I'm really stuck if it was bad colic then obviously I wouldn't go and go a...
Horse had a touch of colic this morning, not enough to warrant vet (horse gets colic a bit so not uncommon, this is due to on going issue under vets care)
Seems fine now eating a bit of grass.
I am supposed to be going away in an hour for 2 weeks and the person left to care for the horses...
Can you read? I already said it wasn't acceptable 3 times!
You quoted me saying it wasn't acceptable.
Stop quoting me if your not even reading what I am writing.
I already said that it wasn't acceptable in my post, you even managed to quote it but obviously not read it!
She also says how she told the livery, after the first time she did it, that she only has to shoo the horse away or make a certain noise at him so it sounds like there was a history...
I have to wonder how people would reply to this thread if it was their horse/themselves being lunged at?
I think it is completely out of order to smack a horse around its head, but if a horse was aggressively lunging for one of mine my first reaction would be to wave my hand at the horse to get...
Ah you guys are amazing, thank you all for your suggestions! Looks like it might be a rather expensive trip and I love the idea of a tack shop and cafe :-)
I am visiting family in the Honiton area next month and would like to visit a decently stocked tack shop/saddlery.
I am hoping there are some Somerset/Devon people on here that could suggest somewhere not too far that I could get my last horsey shopping fix before Xmas :-0
Has anyone had a horse that seems to only like rubber reins?
I know this sounds really odd, but my horse seems to have a real problem when I try to ride her in anything other than rubber reins. She shows her displeasure by general head shaking (nothing very extreme) and sort of throws her...
