Try De Nero’s, I have short legs, slim calves and wide feet and they are very comfortable. My son also has very slim calves and very wide feet and he says they are the most comfortable boots he has worn. I think it is because the leather is so soft and so gives and doesn’t pinch. They also...
I’m about 5’1” (give or take half an inch) and my legs are quite short for my height and the breeches cover my ankles but without the excess gathering of material that occurs with regular length breeches and subsequent boot problems🙂
For me one of the things that I particularly like is they come in a short length, length of breeches is an issue for those of us not blessed with legs up to our armpits!
Price per wear😉 - if you wear them all the time, they are very comfortable and wash well (no fabric conditioner). I’ve paid £60/70 for riding tights and not liked riding in them so therefore a waste of money.

These are fantastic everyday breeches, much prefer them to riding tights. All the ladies on the yard have multiple pairs, they are stocked by lots of shops/companies.
I’ve been wearing mine over a silk but make sure the band goes slightly under the edges of the hat. So far not had any problems (and have been through some rather overgrown bridle paths and long hacks in high winds) but still early days for me as hat cam was a Christmas present.
It would be interesting to know the breeding - had an ex racer who had something that was known to be “quirky” in his breeding, ended up blind bolting (won’t say too much as outing) but he was PTS as I would not take the risk with anyone’s safety. I do believe some ex racers are so highly bred...
I really think the vet should have said something when they saw the horse. We had a pony on the yard that was ridden by a hefty teen and even heftier mother. The pony had issues (obviously) and the vet informed them that it was to carry no more than 9 stone - how hard is that to say to someone...
I think it depends on what livery you have. I’m on full livery and I did the liner system until when buying a new rug one, one of the staff said it was much easier for them if we had a rug of different weight as, with so many horses to do, faffing about with liners took up more time than taking...
I have one with KS (husband’s (useless) ex racer), I would never take on another one. Husband felt an obligation to the horse and we started to rehab him knowing we could spend the money and he could still be PTS as he couldn’t realistically be retired. He’s doing better than expected but we...
