Thanks guy I didn't think they would be allowed everywhere tbh, it was only the one time I had a problem but I think it's because they cut the grass the day before and left it on the field so it was very slippery :(
I competed my youngster this year barefoot and he struggled on the grass doing dressage, I would like to compete him affiliated next year and I know I will need studs.

This is Guinness my 4 year Section D, taken him out to a few Intro's and one Prelim and we've had three 1st's and a 3rd!

I currently use a Stubben cotton girth which I had for my previous horse and I want to change to a leather both sided elasticated girth
I believe mine is a 115cm currently and I was wondering if anyone has any advice on how many cm/inches to take off when buying a double sided leather girth?

Anyone else found the move from intro to prelim daunting?
I've taken Guinness (my 4 years Section D) to three local PC dressage and he's done really well scoring 60%, 61% and 65% with three 1st's.
I've having lessons and he is being ridden by an ex event/all over competitor and...
First time out this weekend gone for my 4 year old Guinness, and we came away with a fantastic 1st place with 60.48% in the Intro A 2008!!! :D

I was wondering if anyone has ever entered an in-hand best competition horse/pony youngster class in local fun shows before? Are there certain types of breeds expected for this class?
Also if any breed can enter, do they need to be plaited/trimmed etc?

My farrier was boy last night to trim my boys feet and he mentioned about if I get any little rips inbetween I can by a trimmer/rasp just to smooth it out so it doesn't rip further until their next trims.
Has anyone else heard of this or has anyone got one, knows of a website...
