Can anyone help before it’s too late..

Others have much better ideas than I have, but did the vets do a ACTH test for Cushings? I don't think something like that would cause the extensive changes you are seeing but mine before he was diagnosed would lose the plot occasionally and not come down for a few days but more spookiness and...

    Lack of Aubiose?

Is anyone else finding it hard to obtain Aubiose through their local stockists? Locally to me in the South West they can't seem to get any. Seems to have started around Christmas time with approaching Brexit and the backlog at the ports.

    Anyone seen any Swallows yet??

They tend to appear in my area around about 15th of April each year. Will be even nicer to see and hear them again this year.

    Tim Stockdale RIP

Heartbreakingly sad. So young, too soon.

    Rotten News Re: Tim Stockdale

Very sad news, saw him at a demo years ago and he is a lovely man. Fingers crossed for a good recovery.

    Swallows

Just a few hanging around a couple of stables as I think they had a very late brood. Will miss them. House martins around my village slowly going - just a couple left tonight. I expect the storms have convinced the migrants to be on their way though gets balmy again next week apparently!

What does everyone feed and why?

Grass at night, soaked hay when in during the day (on winter regime will be other way round minus soaking). Very good doer with Cushings so only gets handful of D&H Classic Fibre cubes soaked with handful of Top Spec Top Chop Lite to get supplement into him.

    Harvest mites

My pony gets some funny little scabs on his heels every July/Aug time and I've always put it down to harvest mites. He finds them very itchy so I just clean them up and put on some sudocreme.

D&H Hi Fibre Nuts - now called Cubes?

They've finally replied and reassured me - bit less sugar and starch too in the new product so that's all good.

    Horse Flies Gone YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes horseflies gone (the horse's undercarriage took 2 weeks to go down...) but utter besieged with the normal black flies - in 5 years at the yard I have never seen them this bad - the bit from where the fly mask ends on his nose to his lips is just covered in them the minute they are turned...

D&H Hi Fibre Nuts - now called Cubes?

Hi I take ages to get through a bag of feed as feed so little and went to buy this product again today and it seems to have been rebranded as Hi Fibre Cubes and feedstore assured me it is what was Hi Fibre Nuts previously? Have contacted D&H direct too. Can any other users of it confirm that...

Horse Won't Drink in his Stable

I have similar. Mine currently won't touch his normal big blue trug which is at the front of his stable and looks at it like it's going to eat him. We have had wasps in the stables a bit so I just wonder if he can hear buzzing of them somewhere in the wooden panels distantly behind the bucket...

Dealing with the cold weather - another Siberian cold spell?

1993 C&A ski wear :D They did make good ski wear! So glad I kept it, had only used it once for a week that year so it looks like new but the jacket is day-glo lime green and purple :)

When you wish they could talk.

Hope he's improving day on day. Well done for checking so thoroughly and finding what it was. Useful post. Mine once was found with a quite disturbed stable one morning though had eaten and drunk as normal. He was quite subdued for him and didn't seem to want to go out, not lame but somewhere...
