Bandages removed the next morning then 48h in with short hand walk/grazing day 1 and slightly more day 2 - then walking under saddle for a couple more days. My vet is always keen to avoid complete box rest for their overall health and recommends a bit of grazing if possible - temperament helps...

There are definitely people that normally compete at the higher end of the class bracket that step down to increase points too. There will be a few direct qualifiers for the semi finals which are held over 3 rounds which might be another option to target

I haven’t used with this bit myself but I’ve previously found a back strap helpful for a horse that could be quite heavy in the hand. Doesn’t sit near a flash so that can still be used if you need.

The fences look smaller from up there and there is a lot more horse to catch you should anything not go to plan! I feel much safer and more secure on my 16.3 than my previous 15h.
