I am so very sorry to hear your sad news. I too remember your posts and loved reading them. I haven't been looking on h&h for a few years (my beloved fred was put to sleep about four winters ago and I've not been able to post much since) but I do remember your posts and followed your journey...

which wormer please for unknown history

Hi all, I've just bought a new horse and know nothing about his worming history (dealer didn't know). Which wormer would you give please? Normally I'd give a pramox in november once its gone cold, but yard owner is insisting he is wormed on arrival, so no time to do egg counts to target...

Ideas please for sand free turnout area - also to ride on.

I thought about having a sand base and then using a hay hutch. But worried that if they 'hoovered' bits of fallen hay off the surface, then they may get sand colic. I think I will have to go with wood fibre, but I'm getting worried now that it will be too slippy to school on it.

Ideas please for sand free turnout area - also to ride on.

I'm on heavy clay soil and want to close fields off for winter, so I'm putting in a 20x40 turnout area. I also want to be able to ride on it. I don't want a sand base because I will need to feed hay and am worried about them getting sand colic. Was thinking about a wood fibre arena (not...

Hi, yes, googled their number. About three adverts come up, none with their surname though. Have spoken to the seller just a while ago, but forgot to ask their surname! They are emailing me a video hopefully, so when I speak with them agaoin, I will get more details etc. I hate buying.

Electric fencing question: 40mm tape or rope?

Hi all, Sorry I haven't posted for ages. I sort of lost enthusiasm since I had my beloved Fred put to sleep last October. Anyway, thinking about brighter things, I've moved house and am putting up new fencing. I've had poles driven into the ground ready for electric fencing to be...
