I agree with Pastie2 - master the art of long lining and double lunging and it is a valuable skill to have! It is confusing at first... but well worth it in the long run :) Just keep practicing and trying out what works best for you to keep everything organized in your hands. :)
I personally do not see the harm in working after worming... I just treat it as if it was a feed, give it chance to make its way far enough into the horses digestive system so that exercise will not have any effect.
If he wont eat soaked hay or straw, possibly feeding him lower quality hay - in terms of nutritional value. This means he can still have adlib - or the same amount as he has now, but it will have less "goodness" in it.
