    BE100 Plus?

I found it helped for the dressage. Where I did mine it was more top end 100 sj so didn't make much difference compared to some novice sj which seem huge. As I say iv only ever done it at one venue though so can't speak for all

    First BE Novice in scotland

I did burgie as my first novice. Big and bold but not trappy. Although if your looking at North England I'm guessing you may be quite far south in which case budgie is probably quite a trek North!

Uni or horses ?! Any advice, contacts or experiences? Help!

I was in the same dilemmas you coming on 4 years ago. Didn't know what to do, was worried about letting my parents down etc. I was competing my mate at BE novice and she was 18 at the time so I knew time was running out. I worked my ass off in school, got my grades, got into uni then 3 months...

    PTT exam

Thank you everyone for all your advice :) I'm very lucky that my job consists of training, which was given to me for my stage 3. I just get very worried doing it infront of my boss as she is very good! I think I will buy the books, DVDs and get stuck in and bite the bullett! :)

    PTT exam

I know this is really for education thread however I figured I may get more replies on here. Basically I'm not sure about doing my PTT. I have my bhs stage 3 exam through the fast track system by going straight in at this level. I know it would make sense to do my PTT now but....I basically...

    Somerset area

Hi everyone. Ok so basically there is a possibility I may be moving to the area. Have competed BE intermediate BS foxhunters and done a lot more. Don't want to move out of the industry (currently a groom) but due to personal commitments am looking to cut back hours/ be more flexible. Just...

Have you ever used a calmer... on yourself?!

I use kalms, they made an unbelievable difference to me. I took them before I did my first 1* and slept like a baby every night (unknown to me before a big event) and scored a personal best in my dressage test due to being so relaxed!

    First intermediate suggestions

I did gatcombe int (the march one) was a lovely track. Big but not trappy which is what you want for a first run at that level.

Do you wear a stock for cross country?

I wear my stock shirt (with stock) then but a rugby top over the top but I do take the pin out, cause that could hurt if you had a nasty fall and I'm a worrier haha! I only really do it for speed as I'm usually rising another horse after so just take my rugby top off and pop my jacket back on.

Don't suppose anyone has a novice eventer sitting in a field...

As title really. I am getting very frustrated ATM, after being spoilt with my girl last year at Intermedaite who is now retired. I have (which I am very grateful for) a pn horse who's brain holds him back and a very exciting baby currently at intro but bringing up the grades. However being the...

How far can a novice take a 12yr old horse?

I bought my mare at 15 and didn't start eventing BE until she was 17(I was 17 also and had never evented either) we went from 90 to novice in one year and although never went advanced we did intermediate and 1* last year when she was 19! Go for it! Good luck :)

Embarrassing moments? (Make me feel better!)

Horses are great levellers aren't they! I was warming up at an event one day for my dr, my horse was terrible at it so was concentrating on her more than my surrounding tbh, was aware of a horse coming toward me and we both did that awkward "where do we go" kind of thing. As I pretty much...
