    Backing 3/4yr olds

Debating the height of this one, 4 in May. I say 16.1 everyone but me says 16.3. Ideally would love a 15.2, guess either way that isn't happening. 😁 He is 659kgs and an ID......X

    Backing 3/4yr olds

The 3 year old is now rising 4, last year he did 8 weeks of long lining followed by 8 weeks of hacking (only 2 days a week) So far this year he has had 8 weeks of chilling out. Saddle has been checked so now time to pick him back up. He is 16.1 and 3/4 Irish Draught so I think he has a bit of...

I will throw in Equivita from Equinatural as an option, £55 for 74 days supply, not the question you asked but a good alternative.

    Backing 3/4yr olds

Nothing much has changed as he is just 3 years 8 months old. So a 20 minute hack, one long reining and one in hand session a week for the big Irish one, weather dependant. He has been pretty amazing, bold and curious. Such a jolly, happy bouncy boy, with the occasional baby tantrum. 😂 I...

Vibes for poor old Bertie donkey please.

Another who for the first time pushed the button, it felt good. What an awful person to say such vile remark. So glad to hear a positive update, I hope it continues.

Backing a horse - how heavy?

I'm a similar weight 9st4 with a similar horse, 16.1 ISH so slightly chunkier, also rising 4. I worked out that I am 12% including tack and for a young horse I am happy to be, and to keep, within 15% for backing him. We had our first 20 minute hack last weekend, you will be more than fine. Good...

    Backing 3/4yr olds

Just taking thing slowly really with the young Irish chap. A couple of very short hacks, 15 minutes, mixed in with a little long reining and in hand work a week. I think he is the sweetest boy but very childish, even for a 3 year old, and prone to temper tantrums as he wants to do more. I do...

Transport from ireland to UK recommendations

I've had a good service from Equitrans, I rang them for more information when he was on his way and he was happy to chat. Horse arrived in perfect condition and they even had a sense of humour at 4 in the morning.

And just like that I'm on board! Such a good keen bean, he has a sensible head on him when he has to. At all other time he is very much the 3 year old........

    Swish or Ruggles Turnouts

I recently purchased a Bucas big neck rug for my chunky ID mare, I was really impressed with the quality and fit on her. It gives a lot of room around the shoulders and neck. The only downside I could find was there isn't much choice in the weight of them, I got the 50g.
