How to buy a good used trailer

I had a 505 which was a great trailer. You'll find a VIN plate on the A-frame which you can check the details, age etc with IWT. They also will have details for the Datatag if it's been registered as stolen etc. Other things, check that the aluminium floor under the rubber matting is clean and...

    Fixing synthetic saddles?

Another vote for Contact Adhesive. Something like Evostick Impact contact adhesive. Just in case you've not used it before, you apply the glue to both sides, and wait for it to go tacky (10-20 minutes, but double-check the instructions), and then you push the sides together. It's great stuff!

Thunking of downgrading on a horse

Is there any way the horse you are planning to loan out could be downgraded so you could enjoy him/her doing lower level things? Sometimes the perfect horse for you is hiding in plain sight, right under your nose. 😊

Will it stop for just one day?

I know, we were hoping to see the end of the hosepipe ban tbh, as we've got some power washing to do etc etc - still waiting from July last year. They'll probably lift it in June, then put a new one on place for July. ☔ Btw. I meant to say that we're in Kent, and on the border between two water...

Will it stop for just one day?

We've just heard that the hosepipe ban in our area (from July last year) is to be extended.... 💦

    Hungarian halter

According to Google Lens, the halter is similar to a "Mule Tape Rope Halter". If you search on YouTube, there's quite a few videos showing you how to make a Mule Tape Rope Halters, which look similar, but not exactly the same as the one in your photo.

    Horsey Holidays

Your set up sounds great! Like @Suechoccy above, I did a Bridlerides holiday where it was a mixture of "petal rides" (eg. A-A) and some A-B-C-A days, where you stayed at a different place for three consecutive nights. They moved your luggage along for you. It all worked really well, but I...

    Weather Apps

For a conventional weather forecast, I like the BBC weather forecast. My favourite though is Ventusky (screenshot below), which is a weather map that you can zoom in and out of, and scroll forward for up to a fortnight, focusing on temperature / precipitation / wind speed etc. You can use it...

    London International horse show

I've posted above about this, but a good way to get tickets to the LIHS is via Groupon. They release tickets for a lot of the session on there and they are half price. If you keep an eye on Groupon from Oct/Nov you'll see them. They're at most of the price ranges. I volunteered a couple of...

All four legs swollen - what on earth is it...

I've had it as well - and as for you, mine was from an insect bite. It spreads so quickly and was very painful. Two weeks in hospital on various drips. 😟

Another vote for cellulitis, but fingers crossed for a speedy recovery! 🤞

    Oedema under stomach and sheath

Sorry to read of your pony's swelling under his stomach. I was wondering what age your pony is please? Also, does the swelling reduce or change with exercise - or is he off work at the moment? My horse had a similar swelling, but he was 25+ and had been on Prascend and Bute for several years...

Anyone have a 'life hack' for this issue?

How about using a cement/mortar mixing tray? They are nice and tough, wide, but low and with a lip. Here's a luck to one for sale by Wickes, but builders merchants / DIY stores sell then: https://www.wickes.co.uk/Heavy-Duty-Tuffspot-Mixing-Tray---Black/p/543009
