All four legs swollen - what on earth is it...

I've had it as well - and as for you, mine was from an insect bite. It spreads so quickly and was very painful. Two weeks in hospital on various drips. 😟

Another vote for cellulitis, but fingers crossed for a speedy recovery! 🤞

    Oedema under stomach and sheath

Sorry to read of your pony's swelling under his stomach. I was wondering what age your pony is please? Also, does the swelling reduce or change with exercise - or is he off work at the moment? My horse had a similar swelling, but he was 25+ and had been on Prascend and Bute for several years...

Anyone have a 'life hack' for this issue?

How about using a cement/mortar mixing tray? They are nice and tough, wide, but low and with a lip. Here's a luck to one for sale by Wickes, but builders merchants / DIY stores sell then: https://www.wickes.co.uk/Heavy-Duty-Tuffspot-Mixing-Tray---Black/p/543009

Food for very fussy cushings horse

It was several years ago now, but I tried so many different feeds for my horse when he became super-fussy when he was on Prascend. In the end, I found he would eat Topspec Comprehensive Balancer, with the Topspec Cool Condition cubes, and he did really well on it. ETA: I forgot to add that he...

If you don't own a horse

Hi @Sanversera having had horses for many years, I don't own a horse now or ride at all, having lost my last horse just before Lockdown. I still really enjoy following the Forum, and generally keeping up with the equestrian community and friends that still own horses and ride. I mainly follow...

    Hacking advice please

Are you able to work her in the field or arena before going out on your hack - if so, does that make any difference? What is the terrain like on your hack - does one way have a steep downhill stretch / slippy road, lots of cars or large vehicles? Have you tried hacking her away from the yard...

    Warning re payload accuracy

Having had a horsebox on the past, we've now got a motorhome and there are exactly the same problems with payloads as there are with horseboxes. We had to have our 3.5t motorhome uprated to 4t because at 3.5t there simply wasn't enough payload to cover water and waste, fuel etc. It's commonly...

    Boggle- USA bound!

It looks like you've found a great yard for Atlas. It's really good that he can have a gentle mooch around his in/out stable. Just gentle movement will make a big difference. Sorry you've had such a rough time - just what you don't need after such a big move and upheaval, but tbh you're best...

    Returning to UK

Welcome back to the Uk @Janet 54 ! 😊 As mentioned above, the British Eventing website will be a good place to look at opportunities for getting involved in eventing - fence judging and other volunteering roles. Am I right in thinking that when you say "TD" that you are an eventing Technical...

    Dying competition breeches

What about contacting a professional dyer to see if they could dye them for you? An ex colleague's Mum worked for a garment dyeing business in London. They did a lot of dyeing for the theatre and film industries. My colleague would often have her clothes dyed and the results were really good. 🎨

    Behaviour change overnight

Sorry to hear of your injury. You don't say how old your mare is? My first impression is that her current behaviour is as a result of the change to her routine, and new turnout group - she is establishing her place in the group. Also, assuming you're in the UK, the weather is changing - and...
