Interesting thread!! I have been doing a lot of fitness work with my mare, she has a quick recovery time but she still sweats a lot.....
Can some horses still sweat even at a good level of fitness?
Has anyone done them before? What does it entail?
Have been doing lots of xc training recently & am thinking of biting the bullet & giving it a go.. ;)..
I really could do with some more control for showjumping! Horse gets excited and starts to lean, braking can become an issue!! I don't want a bit that is too strong though!!
I do flatwork in a french link snaffle.
It has been suggested that I try either a NS Universal or an Elevator...
OMG I have just watched the video of them pulling the donkey under a parachute!!!
What the hell is wrong with some people, it is heart breaking.... People said you could hear it squealing with fright!!!!!!!!!
My Warmblood has been sweating a lot in this boiling weather!! He is worked most days either jumping or flat work, but he seems to have lost his get up & go!!... I think I need to add salt to his feed, he gets very little hard feed & is a good doer! He is having Equivite Vit & Min and garlic...
Yes, fair point... It was more a case of that he had to be ridden every day otherwise he would become fizzy. He has never been fizzy since I have had him, even when he was on Equivite, just spooky when hacking out.
I have had my horse about 6 months.. The previous owner said that he needed a handful of Cool Mix a day, only needed haylage & Grass otherwise he would be too highly strung!! He is a Warmblood & a good dooer.....
He is doing at least an hours work every day, at the moment he is out all the...
Ooohh!! That looks lovely...
My saddle fitter is coming this afternoon, she is bringing both BC & K&M for me to try.. Will be going for the GP though.....
My problem is that my lad has very high withers, so am a little limited!! We will have to see how it goes....
I am thinking of treating myself and buying an Albion KB Bridle.....
Is it suitable for showjumping? I have read that as it is a comfort bridle, that it is only really suitable for dressage......
Also, what are your thoughts on Stubben bridles?
