The sample used in this study could be questioned... although the researcher intially tests out the questionnaire on an e-forum, the sample for the study is then solely from the Friesian Horse Association of North America (FHANA) so therefore could be deemed biased?

From experience when using a fleece on a damp/wet horse it makes the moisture sit on top of the rug rather than evaporating into the air which can often cause the horse to get cold, best to use a cooler rug rather than a fleece.
The one at the stables where I keep my pony has a cross country course, it is well established although spread over one field so it is easier to empty the field of horses when its being used.
Grazing/turn out is permitted on dry days as otherwise the areas around the jumps can become muddy...
