Firstly I only have experience of riding a couple of young horses but am a quiet rider who has learnt how to ride young horses correctly. There's a new pony YO has just bought to use in the riding school-nothing special but will just do basic flatwork and a bit of jumping. However she's been...
one wears just over reach boots as he likes to tear round his field and jump out, he does have boots all round when it's icy/very slippy
other pony always has overreach boots (has remedial shoes on and she overreaches badly) and front boots as she's got tendon problems and is just coming back...
My friend has a Connie that I've basically adopted as my own-she's 5ft 3 and i'm 5ft7 and pony is 15.1 but I fit him just right! He does anything and everything and is cheeky (personality wise and can buck a bit when he gets excited!) but incredibly safe-hacked him out as a four year old on his...
sorry to hear about it! But yep, i know of another competition horse with a heart murmur-my friend's 13yr old endurance horse's (competes at 90kms) condition was only found at the final vetting, and only shows up when she's worked intensely. However she's totally fine, doesn't affect her at all...
would recommend a lycra suit type thing that's designed to prevent aganinst rubbing and is a lot cheaper than buying a brand new rug! Somebody also reccommended spraying show sheen on the inside of the hood but don't know to what extent that actually works.
Going out to endurance and then flying out to Washington for camp at the start of June, which marks the start of a new exciting part of my life as I'm heading to Vancouver for a year after that I'm ridiculously excited, I just want these next 4 months to fly by!
my friend's horse only likes being out for 3 hours max, any longer and he gets really stressed; pacing, pawing thr ground, calling to the others and trying to escape. Other horse will jump out of any field even if he's got grass etc.- he jumps just for the fun of it, we had to put an extra...
i'm the same i only have a navy JTE showjumper-type hat, navy jacket with silver buttons and white jods. However as long as you're tidy and well turned out I was told it doesn't matter that much about what you're wearing, what you've got sounds fine
And I haven't stopped grinning! Everyone was really friendly, went out for 4 hours and it was really fast going, I even jumped a rather large jump even though I'm a bit of a wimp when it comes to jumping most of the time! I've wanted to go hunting for years but have been pony-less so I was so...
so i've only worn a stock once before and i just did a reef knot bodge job and managed to get away with it. However i'm going out hunting for the first time on Saturday and want to look super smart so could somebody tell me an easy way to tie a stock correctly? I tried to follow a diagram from a...
