Amazon basics raised dog bed here, been outside in all weathers for years and still in excellent nick. The hound loves it (though appreciates some extra padding on it in spring and autumn). Ours is too big for indoors, we'd constantly be bashing ankles in it!

We have something similar to these Dog bed topper (ebay link). So popular with the hound that we have 4 of them. They're a little padded, but soft enough that he can dig them up and nest in them if he wants to. He's also not keen on vet bed.
