Missy also does this but it gets very annoying especially hacking alone as she seems to get herself worked up whenever she does it (high pitched squealing!) and its usually followed by her jogging around on her toes and the horses from her field responding..even if they are miles away!:rolleyes...

I'm hoping its the time of year too, as my mare has become very spooky/nervous when hacking and a pain to handle on the ground-usually she is like a little donkey, wouldn't bat an eyelid.
