Could you use it up as a bit of bedding. Put it under your bed for a few days where the wet patch goes?
Gets rid of it and save a little of proper bedding.
Do you know anyone with cows or sheep?
Any rough bales I have go to the sheep if there are any grazing close ( obviously with the owners say so)
Or we burn but appreciate that’s probably not possible at a livery yard.
Been there, feel your pain.
The first winter here I kind of got everything wrong, I didn’t know what I needed where or how things would pan out in bad weather etc.
I vividly remember one freezing pitch black morning in the pounding rain tipping my big barrow as it was stuck
In the mud and I...
I hope I may get results today and the ponies are both medicated so I have some here and can start straight away.
I have found and have on stand by a (apparently) very good farrier but currently due to the laminitis possibility my vet has said not to touch anyhting until he's a bit more...
What would be the cause? Hinds only affected.
Been going on several months. Pretty major this time. Both hinds which makes for pretty awkward bandage changes.
I’m hoping for cushings results back today 🤞 I think I’m hoping for positive because at least I can do something about it then.
Hind...
That looks great! I'd kill for a set up like that!
Is that this time of year?
We have plannings, well the farm does so I could potentially use them but both ponies do get sore feet from time to time and I just worry that they may be a bit too rough, I suppose it depends how well broken up or...
It was already a bit muddy the field side as they used to stand there at coming in time rather than the actual field gate as they can see the house and feed room door!
I think I'll go with that plan. Now the fence has a hole in it we will need to sort out a permenant gate of some sort on It- Currently I'm trying an old gate over the gap at night with baler twine to keep my other pony in!
So may as well attempt to do it properly. Its not suck your boots off...
Can’t take any more hedge no. It’s not a hedge as such but several hazel trees and something else but the length of fence I’m left with that backs into the field
Just wouldn’t work.
I’m going to measure for mud control mats. It’s not a huge area and in fact isn’t that wet, well suppose no where...
I think next year or when it’s dry enough I’d get a fork lift and bucket or digger in there and make a proper path way. Pinned wood sides perhaps, membrane and hard core maybe. Or mats and something over top.
I really can’t get anything in there to dig it out right now and have hurt my...
I will have a look. I think I will absolutely do it properly next year now knowing the set up works for this situation.
I’m not sure I could afford them right now to be honest. I have some vet bills heading my way which need priority.
However I presume if I’m planning them anyway in the future...
